Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, many firms offer their employees to work remotely from different countries and spend a period of time to live. There are reasons that employees can get benefits from this trend, and this development also provides better outcomes for companies. This essay will discuss the positive outcomes for both workers and companies in the following paragraphs.

The primary merit for the staff is it enables staff to explore new country while working. This is because living in the new environment offers new opportunities to enjoy different cultures and traditions. If they reside in different countries while working, they may learn new things in terms of work and lifestyle. For instance, in Japan, respecting colleagues at workplace is the primary rule of the workplace. Consequently, this enhance the relation among co-workers. Furthermore, they will get chance to live better quality of life compare to their own country, because in some nations the air quality index is high, which leads to detrimental affects on the body.

The main benefit of this development is it expand the business opportunities at the world level. This is mainly because of workers who working in the another nations can link up their own company or get some international projects. As a result, a successful execution in the project will get chance to expand their business globally.

To conclude, exploring different cultures while working and living in foreign country would be highly beneficial to the employees, and getting international projects and tie up with foreign companies would be advantageous to the company.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a clear focus on benefits for employees and companies. The employee section gives relevant points about cultural exposure and learning, with Japan as an example; the company section identifies international projects and global expansion. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the company benefit is explained in only a few sentences, and the link between employees working abroad and securing projects for their employer needs clearer reasoning. The point about air quality is also introduced without showing how it relates to the opportunity to live and work abroad. To strengthen the response, explain each benefit through a fuller cause-and-effect chain and add a specific, relevant example for the company.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for employees and companies, and a conclusion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “The primary merit,” “Furthermore,” and “To conclude” help identify the stages of the argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in linking ideas. However, connections within paragraphs are occasionally mechanical, and some references are unclear—for example, “this enhance the relation” does not clearly identify which aspect of the example improves workplace relationships. The company paragraph also moves quickly from workers abroad to global expansion. Use more precise referencing and explain the links between claims so the progression feels more continuous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “different cultures and traditions,” “international projects,” “air quality index,” and “expand their business globally.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and there are attempts to use less common language such as “detrimental.” However, several word-choice and collocation problems make the expression less natural, including “offer their employees to work,” “better outcomes,” “tie up with foreign companies,” and “detrimental affects.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “workplace” and “different.” Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check word forms: for example, “offer employees the opportunity to work,” “form partnerships,” and “detrimental effects.” This would make the vocabulary more flexible and accurate without changing your ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and causal structures such as “If they reside in different countries while working…” and “This is because…”. Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “this enhance” instead of “this enhances,” “it expand” instead of “it expands,” and “workers who working” instead of “workers who are working.” Articles are also missing in phrases such as “explore new country” and “in foreign country.” These errors do not generally prevent the reader from following your meaning, but they limit accuracy. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and practise checking each clause for a complete, correctly formed verb.
