Student answer (Band 6.0)

The world of technology opened up so many different opportunities for the humans. It is true that nowadays many large international companies allow their staff to live in different nations while they are working for them. This opportunity benefits both employer and employees in many ways.

Firstly, employees can experience different cultures and their food when they are living in another country for their work. For example, if someone from Asia moved to North America for their job, they will get a chance to be a part of their festivals which they celebrate. Secondly, this opportunity can benefit employees financially as well due to the difference of currency of the country where they will work for their company. For instance, people from India who work in companies like Amazon, Apple get a chance to work in their head quarters in United States where they get paid in USD dollars.

However, companies also fill their gaps easily when they give chance to the population all around the world and they attract more talented people. In this way, they do not need to struggle for the vacancies to be filled. Moreover, large multinational companies saves a lot of money when they borrow people from their other branches from different nations. For example, if Apple hire someone from India to work in United States of America they can offer some amount less as compared to the local people because of the difference in exchange rate of money.

In Conclusion, the opportunity to spend a period of time living and working in another country be good for employees for the exposure of cultures, food and financially. Along with this, companies get advantages in case of easy hiring process and to stay in budget of salaries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both questions and maintains a clear overall position: working abroad can benefit employees through cultural exposure and higher earnings, while companies may gain access to talent and manage staffing costs. The examples about an Asian employee experiencing North American festivals and Indian staff working at US headquarters help make the points relevant. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. In particular, the claim that companies can pay transferred employees less because of exchange-rate differences needs clarification, since it is not clear how this would work in practice. The discussion of cultural exposure is also more developed than the financial benefit. Explain the mechanisms and consequences of each advantage more precisely, and support them with examples that directly demonstrate the point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on employee benefits, a paragraph on company benefits, and a conclusion. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “However,” and “Moreover” make the progression explicit. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. At times, though, the links feel mechanical, and the shift to “However” is not a contrast with the employee benefits so much as a move to the second question. Some references, such as “they” in the company paragraph, could also be clearer. Use more natural transitions and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for discussing international work, with relevant terms such as “different cultures,” “multinational companies,” “vacancies,” and “exchange rate.” The meaning is generally clear, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, limiting precision. For example, “the humans” sounds unnatural in the opening, “borrow people” does not express the intended staffing arrangement, and “stay in budget of salaries” is awkward. “USD dollars” is also redundant. Aim for more natural business and employment vocabulary, and check collocations and word forms when revising. More precise phrasing would help distinguish relocation, recruitment, and cost management rather than relying on broad expressions such as “get a chance” and “benefit.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex forms, including conditional examples beginning “if someone…” and “if Apple…,” as well as clauses explaining benefits. Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “companies saves” and “if Apple hire”; the conclusion also needs “can be good” rather than “be good.” There are problems with articles and number in “their head quarters” and “the population all around the world,” and the opening phrase “opened up so many different opportunities for the humans” is not well controlled. These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy. Review agreement, articles, and verb forms, then check each sentence for a complete and correctly formed main clause.
