Dear Mentor,

I am writing this letter to quickly introduce msyelf to you as I will be working under your supervision. My name is Navdeep Chauhan and I was born and raised in India. I am a recent graduate from Humber institute of technology. Additionally, I also hold a bachelors degree in business managment. As far as my professional experience is concerned, I bring 3 years of extensive finance experience. I have previously worked for companies like FGF brands and Siemens AG Canada.

Furthmore, as a new joinee in this company, I am really looking forward to learn, develope industry & finance knowledge.

I am really excited to work under your guidance and other team members and contribute to the company's success.

As I will be working under your supervision, I am really expecting a continous monitoring of my tasks, given new and challenging projects and continous feebacks. All these actions will help me to perform better, and contribute to my continous growth and learning.

I am looking forward to discuss this in details in an in-person meeting. If you are available next week, I can setup our first meeting in one of the offices meeting room. Also, I am also open to virtual meet.

Again, I really appreciate you and the company for giving me this opportunity.

Your sincerely,

Navdeep

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5

The candidate has successfully covered all parts of the task prompt. First, they provided a brief outline of their previous studies and work experience, mentioning Humber institute of technology and three years of finance experience at companies like FGF brands. Second, they explained the help they hope to receive from their mentor, explicitly stating that they expect continuous monitoring, new projects, and feedback. Third, they suggested arrangements for a first meeting, proposing next week in an office meeting room or via a virtual call. The tone is appropriate for a professional workplace letter, and the purpose of the communication is clearly achieved. The response satisfies all bullet points comprehensively, earning a solid band score for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter is logically organised with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Each paragraph focuses on a distinct aspect of the prompt: introduction and background, professional goals and expectations, and finally meeting arrangements. The candidate uses some cohesive devices such as "Additionally", "As far as my professional experience is concerned", and "Also", which aid the flow of the letter. However, paragraphing could be slightly more polished, and some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Overall, the logical progression is clear throughout the text, allowing the reader to follow the correspondence easily, matching the criteria for a Band 7.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.5

The candidate demonstrates a sufficient vocabulary range to communicate effectively and with some precision. Phrases such as "extensive finance experience", "professional experience", and "contribute to the company's success" show an appropriate command of workplace terminology. There are some spelling and lexical inaccuracies, such as "msyelf" instead of "myself", "mangment" instead of "management", "Furthmore" instead of "Furthermore", "joinee" (an uncommon and somewhat unnatural collocation in this context), and "feebacks" (feedback is uncountable). Despite these occasional slips, the vocabulary used is adequate to convey the intended meaning without impeding communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms with moderate success. Examples include "As I will be working under your supervision, I am really expecting a continuous monitoring..." and "If you are available next week, I can setup our first meeting..." However, there are several grammatical errors and punctuation slips. For instance, "looking forward to learn" should be "looking forward to learning", "setup" as a verb should be two words ("set up"), and there are issues with parallel structure and article usage (e.g., "in one of the offices meeting room" instead of "office meeting rooms" or "an office meeting room"). While these errors do not impede communication, their frequency prevents the writing from reaching a higher band.
