Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The letter fully addresses all three bullet points required in the task prompt. You successfully provide an outline of your previous studies and work experience, mentioning your master's in management and hospitality as well as your recent property and event management certification. Furthermore, you clearly explain the help you hope to receive by listing specific queries regarding KRAs, KPIs, and rewards cycles. Finally, you suggest appropriate arrangements for your first meeting by proposing times next week and stating your availability. The tone is suitably polite and professional for a workplace letter to a mentor. All parts of the task are well covered and clearly developed, earning a strong band score.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
Your letter is logically organised with a clear overarching progression from introduction to background, specific questions, and finally meeting arrangements. You use paragraphing appropriately to separate different themes, such as grouping your background in one section and your queries in numbered bullet points. However, some minor mechanical cohesion issues occur, such as the fragment 'So, that i can arrange...' and occasional capitalization slips like 'i' instead of 'I'. Despite these small issues, the overall arrangement is coherent, and ideas flow logically from one paragraph to the next, easily fulfilling the requirements for Band 6.5 to 7.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary appropriate for a workplace setting, successfully employing terms like 'operations department', 'Community Manager', 'certification', and 'Multi-tasking'. There are some minor lexical inaccuracies and spelling errors, such as 'quaterly' instead of 'quarterly' and 'Benifits' instead of 'Benefits'. You also make some word choice errors, such as writing 'adds on training' rather than 'adds on training' or 'includes'. Nevertheless, your vocabulary is varied enough to convey your precise meaning without impeding communication, representing a solid Band 6 performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms throughout the letter, such as relative clauses and conditional structures. There are several grammatical errors and punctuation slips, including lowercase 'i' pronouns ('i shall be reporting', 'i am sure'), missing commas, and punctuation errors around conjunctions (e.g., 'next week. So, that i can...'). Additionally, there are minor agreement issues, such as 'has been certified' when referring to plural subjects or 'queries is as follows'. These errors do not impede communication, but their frequency prevents you from reaching higher bands where error-free sentences dominate.
