Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response only partially addresses the prompt requirements and fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, as it contains only 86 words. While you do attempt all bullet points by giving a brief outline of your studies and work experience ('I complited my busness mangemant diploma'), explaining what help you hope your mentor can give ('i request you jon me as a my mentor because you have more ideas to handeld diffecalties'), and suggesting a meeting arrangement ('we meet nearst cafe tomarow at 11.00am'), these ideas remain limited and under-developed. To achieve a higher band, you must write a much longer response that expands on your background, details the specific types of professional guidance you need, and elaborates on the meeting plans with greater clarity.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement despite its brevity, with a clear attempt to structure the writing into an introduction, body, and closing. You have organized your thoughts into distinct paragraph blocks to separate your background from your meeting suggestion. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in abrupt transitions between sentences and basic referencing (e.g., 'because this is famous it quitness'). To improve your score in this area, you should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that your ideas flow logically from one point to the next with smoother connections.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for the task. You attempt some less common vocabulary related to your studies and workplace, but this is undermined by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word forms. For instance, words like 'complited', 'busness', 'mangemant', 'murgapa', 'compeny', 'jon', 'handeld', 'diffecalties', 'nearst', 'tomarow', 'quitness', 'replay', and 'fathfull' contain severe spelling mistakes. Furthermore, phrases like 'I take new job your compeny' demonstrate awkward collocation and lexical control. To reach a higher band, you must expand your lexical range and significantly improve your spelling and word choice accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your writing displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors that cause some difficulty for the reader. There are persistent mistakes in verb tenses, such as 'I complited' instead of the present perfect or past simple with correct spelling, and missing prepositions or articles, as in 'take new job your compeny' and 'join me as a my mentor'. Punctuation and capitalization are also poorly controlled throughout the letter, such as in the opening and closing lines. To improve, you need to incorporate a mix of accurate complex sentence forms and eliminate basic grammatical errors in verb forms, prepositions, and sentence boundaries.
