Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the main parts of the task, such as giving an outline of previous studies and mentioning the new role, but it misinterprets the prompt in places. Instead of writing directly to the mentor, the writer refers to the mentor in the third person (e.g., 'interduce with my mentor who have...'). Furthermore, the suggestions for a first meeting are largely missing or confused, as the writer discusses the mentor arranging meetings with clients rather than proposing a direct meeting between themselves and the mentor. Ideas are limited and sometimes unclear, which places this response at this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation to the letter, with paragraph breaks separating different topics such as background and expectations. However, there is no clear overall progression due to confusing referencing and pronoun usage, such as switching unpredictably between first- and third-person perspectives regarding the mentor. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, as seen with excessive use of connectors like 'Furthermore', 'Besides that', and 'However', which do not always logically link the ideas together.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic information about jobs and studies. There are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'interduce', 'adminstrations', 'done job', and 'deatils'. The writer attempts some less common phrases, but inaccurate collocations and spelling mistakes prevent the vocabulary from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in complex structures. There are frequent mistakes in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'who have a significant amount', 'i got great experience', 'i learn', 'in a your company', and 'mentor not is only knowledgeable'. These frequent errors require the reader to slow down and can cause some difficulty in comprehension.
