Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response successfully addresses all three bullet points required in the task instructions, showing a clear purpose and an appropriate semi-formal letter tone. You cover your previous studies and work experience by mentioning your Master degree in neuromuscular physiotherapy from Riphah International University and your four years of clinical practice. You also clearly explain the help you hope to receive, such as learning advanced skills and task management, and suggest a specific time and date for your first meeting on Wednesday, 25th October 2026 at 4:00 pm. However, some ideas are slightly more developed than others; for instance, the explanation of the help you need is elaborated well, while the details of your previous work experience could have been extended further. Overall, the communication of requirements is clear and fulfils the core demands of the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter exhibits a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. You make effective use of paragraphing to separate distinct ideas, such as introduction, academic and professional background, expectations from the mentor, and meeting arrangements. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, such as 'Furthermore' and 'Additionally', ensuring that the text flows smoothly from one point to the next. Referencing is generally clear, though occasional minor slip-ups in logical transitions appear, such as the sudden shift in tone when discussing corporate systems. Overall, the structural arrangement creates a coherent overall progression that guides the reader easily through the letter.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting some less common lexical items related to healthcare and professional settings, such as 'neuromuscular physiotherapy', 'musculoskeletal', and 'corporate system'. However, there are some word choice, form, and spelling errors that prevent the writing from achieving a higher band. For example, 'new joinee' is awkward phrasing (better expressed as 'new joiner' or 'new employee'), 'start their career' lacks agreement with 'employee', and 'phsyiotherapy' contains a spelling error. Furthermore, expressions like 'altogethar' and 'Additionaly' contain minor typos. These inaccuracies do not impede communication, but they highlight the need for greater precision in vocabulary and spelling control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating your ability to construct compound and subordinate clauses, such as in 'I am writing to you to introduce myself as I am a new joinee here in the hospital.' There are, however, some noticeable errors in grammar, prepositions, and articles throughout the text. Examples include 'every new employee start' (subject-verb agreement error for 'starts'), 'work in your supervision' (inappropriate preposition choice, should be 'under your supervision'), 'Master in neuromuscular physiotherapy' (missing plural or article), and 'bachelors degree in Dr. of Physical Therapy' (awkward phrasing). Punctuation and article usage also show occasional lapses. Despite these errors, they rarely impede overall communication.
