Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three requirements: you introduce yourself as a pharmacist, outline your pharmacy degree and hospital experience, explain the support you want, and propose a first meeting. The requested help is relevant and includes practical examples, such as learning company procedures and receiving career advice. Your meeting suggestion also gives a place and time, although “This Tuesday” would be clearer with a specific date or a proposed time, and it would help to invite your mentor to confirm or suggest an alternative. The background is understandable, but the study and work details are compressed into a sentence fragment, so they are not as clearly developed as the support you hope to receive. Overall, the letter fulfils the task with clear, relevant ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter has a clear overall progression: introduction, background, requested support, meeting arrangements, and a polite closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “In addition” make the sequence explicit. However, several transitions are formulaic, and “Moreover” and “Furthermore” do not always signal a distinct relationship between ideas. The background paragraph also begins with “these are my work experience and education” before presenting a fragment, which interrupts the flow. The meeting proposal is split into short pieces rather than expressed as one connected suggestion. To strengthen cohesion, use fewer, more purposeful linkers and connect related details through complete sentences and clearer referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.5

You use a suitable range of workplace and pharmacy vocabulary, including “superintendent pharmacist,” “dispensing,” “adverse drug reaction,” “operating procedures,” and “professional skills.” These choices make your experience and goals specific, and the meaning remains clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “in-depth conversation” and “due consideration,” though the latter sounds overly formal for a friendly introduction to a mentor. Some inaccurate or awkward expressions limit precision, including “working a superintendent pharmacist,” “luxury of time,” and “career profgression.” Check spelling and choose natural collocations: for example, say you “worked as” a pharmacist and that an after-work meeting would “allow us more time.” This would make the vocabulary more consistently natural and flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more developed sentence forms, including the conditional request “I would be glad if you could help me…” and the explanation beginning “because it will provide us…”. Most of the message is understandable, but some grammatical errors and sentence fragments remain. “A bachelor degree in pharmacy, and I have been working a superintendent pharmacist” is not a complete, well-formed account; use “I have a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and worked as a superintendent pharmacist.” The meeting proposal, “This Tuesday at the office cafeteria or the meeting room,” is also a fragment. There are errors in articles, verb patterns, and punctuation, such as “advise them on adverse drug reaction and side effect.” Proofreading for complete sentences and consistent sentence boundaries would improve accuracy.
