Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Mr. luice,
I am writing this letter to introduce myself, I am a new employee at CNB computer company and I would like to suggest to arrange a first meeting.
Since I have done my graduation and post-graduation in Business marketing from Niagara college Canada, I have a two year's of experience as a sales assosiate at Jacob's and brothers company. The responsibilities were including handling the products, work with seniors to manage sales and dealing with clients online.
Currently, company hired me on the role of manager assitant, therefore, I will be grateful if you could assist me by providing general tips to handle the responsibilities and any precautions that I need to take in advance.
Due to the long-weekend, I would be happy to meet you on a diner at Rajdhani restaurant in Brampton between 7 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
Thank you for your assistance and I am looking forward for your respose and please contact me if you would like to amend the arrangement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you outline your marketing studies and sales experience, explain that you want guidance with your manager-assistant responsibilities, and propose a time and place to meet. The purpose is clear and the details are relevant. The request for help is somewhat general, however: “general tips” and “any precautions” do not specify which skills or workplace challenges you most want to discuss. The meeting proposal is also less fully framed because “Due to the long-weekend” does not explain why that timing is suitable, and a dinner invitation may be less appropriate than a professional meeting suggestion. More specific goals and a clear invitation to choose or confirm a time would make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression from introduction, to background, to the support you hope to receive, and finally to meeting arrangements and a polite closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “Since,” “Currently,” and “therefore” make relationships between ideas visible. Some connections are less smooth: the opening joins two complete ideas with a comma, while the transition from the long weekend to dinner is not fully explained. The final sentence also combines thanks, anticipation of a reply, and an invitation to amend the arrangement in one long sequence. Separating these functions and using a more direct transition would make the organisation feel more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the workplace and the task, including “sales associate,” “responsibilities,” “manage sales,” and “dealing with clients.” This gives you enough range to communicate your background and request. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “assosiate,” “manager assitant,” and “respose.” Some combinations are also unnatural or unclear: “suggest to arrange a first meeting,” “meet you on a diner,” and “precautions that I need to take in advance.” Choose more natural professional expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, you could say that you would like to arrange a meeting, meet for dinner, and receive advice on preparing for the role.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Since” and a conditional request with “if you could assist me.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. The opening is a comma splice: “I am writing this letter to introduce myself, I am a new employee…”; use a full stop or a conjunction. In “The responsibilities were including,” the verb construction is incorrect, and “I have a two year's of experience” has problems with the article and possessive form. The final sentence also needs clearer punctuation to separate its clauses. Review sentence boundaries, verb patterns, and noun phrases, while retaining your attempts at varied structures.
