Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you outline your spray-painting course and previous work as a painter, explain that you want to develop your vehicle-painting skills, and propose a time and place for a first meeting. The purpose of the letter is clear and the details are relevant. The background and learning goals are somewhat brief, however, and the request for help focuses mainly on one technical skill rather than explaining more broadly what guidance you hope to receive as a new employee. The meeting suggestion is specific, but could be made more considerate by asking whether Monday at 9 a.m. suits your mentor. More development of these ideas and a clearer, more tactful request would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information follows a generally sensible order: you introduce yourself and your background, describe what you hope to learn, then move to the meeting arrangements and close the letter. The paragraph break helps distinguish the introduction and request. Linking phrases such as “In addition” also make the progression easy to follow. However, most of the first paragraph contains several ideas joined in a long run-on sequence, so the relationships between them are not always clearly signposted. The reference in “it was you” is also slightly awkward after “a mentor.” Use clearer sentence boundaries and organise the background, mentoring goals, and meeting proposal into distinct units to make the letter flow more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the purpose and includes relevant terms such as “spray painting,” “custom airbrush design,” “career,” and “mentor.” These details make your experience and interests understandable, and the reader can follow your main message despite some inaccurate choices and spelling slips. At times, phrasing is imprecise or unnatural: “I have skill on paint jobs” and “I heard a lot of details about you” do not express your meaning idiomatically. “Quite place” also appears to be an inaccurate word choice for the intended setting. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this would make the letter sound more fluent and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses, for example in “I hope that you could consider my requests,” and the message remains understandable overall. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur in basic sentence formation, verb forms, articles, and punctuation. Examples include “I want to intoduced to you myself,” “I am taken the spray painting course,” and “I am a new employee of our company,” where the verb forms or article use need correction. Several clauses are run together without appropriate sentence boundaries, as in the opening. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; also review past and present verb forms and use commas and full stops to separate complete ideas.
