Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main purpose by introducing yourself, outlining your education and work background, and identifying a technical area where you want support. The details about your degree and experience as a maintenance engineer are relevant, and your request for help with amplifiers and capacitors is specific. However, the request for mentorship is more developed than the meeting arrangement: “Please let me know your availability” does not suggest a time, place, or way to meet. The description of your previous roles is also somewhat general, while the task asks for a brief outline. To strengthen the letter, explain more clearly what guidance you need and propose a practical first meeting, such as a short conversation next week.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall sequence: introduction and background, current responsibilities and the help you want, then a closing request. Paragraphing supports this progression, and the reader can follow the main message. Some links between ideas are abrupt, however, particularly the move from your work duties to the request about amplifiers and capacitors. The long second paragraph also combines several functions, so the request for support and the proposed meeting are not clearly separated. Use a linking phrase to explain how the technical topic relates to your troubleshooting work, and give the meeting arrangement its own clear sentence. This would make the organisation feel less like a list of details.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a suitable range of workplace and technical vocabulary, including “maintenance engineer,” “automation,” “energy management,” “troubleshooting,” and “production floor.” These terms make your background and support needs understandable. There are some inaccurate or awkward choices that reduce naturalness, such as “took over the role of Electrical engineering,” “took over many roles,” and “imply these towards troubleshooting.” Spelling errors such as “Maintenace,” “whuch,” “easiky,” and “avaibility” also affect the impression of control, although the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Aim for precise collocations and proofread carefully; for example, describe the position you “joined” and say how you will “apply” new knowledge.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and most of the message remains understandable. However, some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are noticeable. The opening “I writing this letter” needs a finite verb, while “My current roles includes” has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “I completed my bachelors,” the possessive form is needed, and “Looking forward to hear from you” requires a gerund after “to.” The sentence beginning “I would really appreciate your help” also becomes difficult to follow because its clauses are joined without a clear grammatical structure. Review these patterns and use shorter, complete sentences where needed; this will improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at complex ideas.
