Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three required points: you outline your engineering studies and two years of technician experience, explain that you want guidance on processes and safety policies, and indicate that you are flexible about meeting. These details make the letter relevant and give the mentor a clear introduction. However, the help you hope to receive is described mainly as understanding procedures; adding a specific career-development goal would develop this point further. The meeting request is also somewhat indirect: you ask the mentor to arrange an appointment but do not suggest a particular day, time, or format. The opening and closing are recognisable, though “Dear Sir” and “Your Faithfully” are not well matched to a named mentor. More tailored, complete details would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it introduces you, explains your current situation and support needs, then moves to meeting arrangements and a closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and transitions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” signal progression. This is a coherent structure, with some effective linking between related ideas. However, the repeated formal connectors make the flow slightly mechanical, and some references are unclear—for example, “your name as my a mentor” and “I am available next 3 weeks” require the reader to infer the intended relationship or timing. Use simpler links where appropriate and make each paragraph’s connection explicit. A direct invitation with a proposed meeting time would also strengthen the progression from requesting support to arranging the first meeting.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of workplace and study vocabulary, including “maintenance technician,” “Electronics and Control Engineering,” “safety policies,” and “training courses.” These choices communicate the main information and show some awareness of the professional context. There are also several inaccurate or unnatural expressions, such as “inboarding documentations,” “my joined,” and “a mentor for next 3-4 weeks”; these reduce naturalness, although the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Spelling and word-form slips such as “hering” and “SOPS” also need attention. Aim for standard collocations and precise forms—for example, “onboarding documents,” “since I joined,” and “standard operating procedures.” This would make the letter sound more fluent and professionally appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of short statements and longer sentences, including a relative clause in “a mentor, who guide me” and a conditional-style arrangement in “I will schedule myself according to your schedule.” The main message remains understandable, and some sentences are correctly formed, such as “I have 2 years of experience as a technician.” However, some grammatical errors occur across the letter: “to introduced myself” should be “to introduce myself,” “who guide me” needs subject–verb agreement, and “It has been 2 weeks of my joined” has an incorrect construction. Capitalisation of “I” is also inconsistent, and the closing phrase has an agreement/form error. Review verb forms, sentence patterns, and punctuation, while retaining the longer structures you attempt.
