Dear Kumar,

I writing this letter to inform you that I have got hired recently and my work will begin on upcoming monday . I have been told by Human Resource manager that you are my mentor and to brief you about my joining for better outcome. In my acadamics I hold a graduation in Accounting and Analysis of finance which I have been doing from last 3 years.

In this shift of my organisation I have some problems with software our company uses particularly in data entry .Also, I would like to have an tour of our building if it is ok with you .It will be really helpful to me if you can help me with that . Moreover, it could be more easy if we can do it in person . we can arrange this meeting on the day of my joining on your prefered time .

I hope this would not be too much to ask for you . please let me know about it . I will be waiting to hear from you .

Yours sincerely

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you introduce yourself, mention your accounting studies, explain that you need help with the company software and a building tour, and propose meeting on your first day. These details make the letter relevant and its purpose clear. However, the outline of your background is incomplete: “I hold a graduation in Accounting and Analysis of finance” does not clearly explain your previous work experience, and the duration of study is also unclear. Your request for support is specific, but you could explain what guidance you need with the software. Develop these points and make the meeting proposal more precise, for example by suggesting a time or asking when your mentor is available.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph about the support you need and a proposed meeting, followed by a closing. The sequence is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Also” and “Moreover” help connect related requests. This meets the expected level of coherent organisation. Some connections are mechanical, however, and the second paragraph moves quickly from software difficulties to a building tour and then to meeting arrangements. Grouping the requests more deliberately and using clearer transitions would improve progression. The closing repeats the request for a reply in “please let me know” and “I will be waiting to hear from you”; one concise closing sentence would be more effective.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main purpose, including “mentor,” “data entry,” “software,” and “arrange this meeting.” These choices are relevant to a workplace letter. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “got hired,” “in this shift of my organisation,” and “a tour of our building.” Spelling errors in “acadamics” and “prefered” also reduce accuracy. The phrase “Accounting and Analysis of finance” is difficult to interpret, so use the standard name of your qualification or field. Aim for natural workplace expressions and check spelling; this will make your meaning more precise and the letter more polished.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and longer sentences, and the main message is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, including the missing auxiliary in “I writing this letter,” the article and noun pattern in “a graduation,” and the construction “I have been doing from last 3 years.” There are also punctuation and capitalisation issues, such as the space before the full stop after “monday” and the lowercase “we” after a full stop. These errors do not usually prevent the reader from understanding your requests, but they make the letter less controlled. Practise accurate present-perfect forms and article use, and proofread sentence boundaries. For example: “I have a degree in accounting, which I completed over three years.”
