Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, the fact that people are purchasing vitamin pills instead of following a healthy diet has become an increasingly pressing issue. In my view, the primary cause is saving time and most effective solution is providing education from early age to promote cooking at home.
A primary reason for spending a lot of money on vitamin pills is saving a lot of time from cooking. This is because cooking a food such as rice or curry is only filled with carbohydrates and fibre but lacks protein and vitamin B. However, a multi vitamin tablets are catered for particular vitamins. For instance, a lot of people in Canada are taking vitamin D tablets daily as during winter time it's impossible to get natural sunlight. This is largely because multi vitamins fulfils the nutrition demand easily without any preparation and could be consumed at any time during the day, which can lead to significant boost in energy and creative mind.
On the other hand, to introduce people with healthy diet instead of purchasing vitamin capsule is the education. School’s should come forward and start educating people about having a healthy home cooked diet. For instance, governments should promote and market policy for healthy diet preparation and organising physical fitness activities such as yoga, running and much more. If these measures are implemented effectively, they would significantly reduce people's habbit on relying on multi vitamin tablets.
In conlcusion, buying multi vitamin pills largely stems from not promoting healthy diet. Governments and educational institution should therfore invest into resources to promote healthy diet and physical activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why people buy vitamin pills and how they can be persuaded to improve their diet. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of pills and the role of education. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument about cooking being 'filled with carbohydrates and fibre but lacks protein' is factually questionable and under-developed. The suggestion to use education is a good starting point, but the explanation of how this would practically change behavior could be more detailed. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the causes to the solutions. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However', 'For instance', and 'On the other hand', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion. While the flow is generally logical, some sentences within paragraphs, particularly in the second paragraph, feel slightly disjointed, which prevents a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'pressing issue' and 'catered for', but there are also some inaccuracies in collocation and word choice, such as 'multi vitamin tablets are catered for' and 'habbit on relying'. Spelling errors like 'conlcusion' and 'therfore' are present. The range is sufficient to communicate, but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'a multi vitamin tablets' (subject-verb agreement), 'School’s should' (incorrect pluralization), and 'most effective solution is providing' (missing article). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to be noticeable. The control over punctuation and articles is inconsistent. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, as well as refining complex sentence structures.
