Student answer (Band 7.0)
It has always been a matter of debate whether we should use the food or the supplement pills for all necessary vitamins. While doctors say that we could get all essential vitamins from a diet, people are still spending a sufficient amount of money on vitamin tablets. In this essay, we will discuss the main reasons associated with this and provide some appropriate solutions to improve diet.
To commence with, people are dependent on vitamin pills because they have an insufficient and irregular diet. Most individuals have a hectic schedule and they barely have time to cook for themselves. So they heavily rely on fast-food and pre-cooked meals, such a diet often lacks basic nutritional value. Consequently, individuals have a deficiency of important minerals and vitamins such as Iron, Zinc, B12 and Omega-3. Therefore, in order to deal with such deficiencies, they start taking vitamin pills because it is an easy and convenient way. Moreover, some individuals are professional bodybuilders and it is not possible for them to fulfill their vitamins through diet because they have certain dietary restrictions. Therefore they prefer to consume pills and capsules.
Furthermore, the government should run awareness campaigns to educate people regarding improving their diet rather than just taking pills. This can be done through adverts and local camps. In these programs issues like an absorption rate and the synergy effect could be described to the local population. Likewise, the vitamin pills have an absorption rate of only 30-40% whereas vitamins and minerals from the natural resources have a much higher absorption rate. Similarly, taking a balanced diet provides the other important macros as well. For instance, oranges have vitamin C but they also provide fiber and glucose to the body. Additionally, consuming a balanced diet is always better and a cost-effective method.
To sum up, people are spending a huge amount of money on vitamin pills. Even though doctors are advising them to consume vitamins from a balanced diet. This is because of inappropriate diet and professional reasons. The government should aware individuals about the natural benefits of consuming a good diet such as absorption and additional macros.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt clearly. You identify two main reasons for vitamin pill consumption—lifestyle constraints and specific dietary needs—and propose government-led awareness campaigns as a solution. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed. However, the development could be more sophisticated; for instance, the explanation of 'synergy effect' is a bit vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more nuanced reasoning. Your position is clear throughout, and the essay maintains a consistent focus on the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use a variety of cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Consequently', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the reasons from the solutions. Referencing is generally clear, though the connection between the absorption rate argument and the overall solution could be more tightly integrated to improve the logical progression of the second body paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision, using terms like 'nutritional value', 'deficiency', 'dietary restrictions', and 'cost-effective'. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'should aware individuals' (should make individuals aware) and 'natural resources' (natural sources). While you attempt some less common vocabulary, the range is adequate rather than wide. To improve, focus on more precise collocations and ensure that word forms are used correctly in context to avoid minor errors that slightly affect the naturalness of the expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several error-free sentences, but some grammatical slips persist, such as 'the vitamin pills have an absorption rate' (unnecessary article) and 'the government should aware individuals' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is generally sound, though some sentences could be more effectively linked to avoid a slightly choppy feel. The errors present do not impede communication, but they do prevent the essay from reaching the higher bands where the majority of sentences would need to be error-free.
