Student answer (Band 6.0)
Healthy diet plays a very significant role to maintain individual's physically and mentally strong. Many doctors advice people to get all the vitamins by adding fruits and vegetables in your diet. Despite this advice, some individuals still spend money on multivitamins. I believe this is due to less knowledge about natural products, busy schedules and more advertising of vitamin pills on social media. This essay will discuss these reasons thoroughly and give provide views that how could people be persuaded to improve their diet instead of buying vitamin pills.
One of the primary reasons is a less awareness about natural products. This is because some people don't have knowledge that fruits and vegetables are a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Secondly, busy professionals often avoid to spend time to make healthy food at home. Therefore, they are most likely to choose vitamin pills to fulfill their vitamin deficiency in their body. Moreover, multivitamins advertising by well known people is also one of the main reasons for people to spend finances on vitamin pills. For example, many youngsters start taking multivitamins by getting influenced by their influencers who are promoting these pills to make money. Hence, they are choosing pills instead of healthy diet to save their time and effort.
However, people could improve their diet by getting proper education about the natural sources of vitamins and minerals. So that they can add those products in their daily diet and make their meals nutritious. In addition, government could also raise awareness campaigns about healthy diet.
They can provide restrictions on advertising companies which are spontaneously promoting multivitamins on social media. For instance, there should be a one subject in the school system which provide all the information about health and diet to the scholars.
In conclusion, although multivitamins are one of the artificial source to fulfil the needs of vitamins in the body. But, healthy diet is the most appropriate way to maintain the human body healthy and fit.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both why some people spend money on vitamin pills (lack of knowledge, busy schedules, social media advertising) and how they can be persuaded otherwise (education, government campaigns, school curriculum). A clear position is maintained throughout the response. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed and rely on generalisations, which places this performance at Band 6. For instance, the discussion on advertising mentions influencers promoting pills, but the reasoning could be extended further. Overall, the task requirements are adequately met with a logical structure that speaks directly to the two-part prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement with logical paragraphing, addressing the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion distinctly. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One of the primary reasons', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', though some are a bit mechanical or used with minor grammatical friction. Referencing is generally clear, but there are some awkward transitions, such as starting a sentence with 'So that they can add...' which disrupts the flow between clauses. Progression is visible, moving from reasons to solutions effectively, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'multivitamins', 'deficiency', and 'nutritious'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'a less awareness' instead of 'less awareness', 'avoid to spend time' instead of 'avoid spending time', and 'artificial source' instead of 'artificial sources'. Spelling is generally accurate, but the lexical errors prevent the score from reaching a higher band. The vocabulary used is minimally adequate to convey meaning successfully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms with varied structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing that persist, such as 'Healthy diet plays a very significant role to maintain individual's physically and mentally strong' (incorrect adjective/adverb usage and article omission), 'give provide views that how could people' (double verb and word order error), and sentence fragments like 'So that they can add...' and 'But, healthy diet is...'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they highlight a lack of consistent control over complex structures, typical of a Band 5.5 performance.
