Student answer (Band 6.0)

Doctors suggest us that we can obtain all vitamins from healthy diet. Instead of this advice, some people are spending too much money on vitamins tablets. There are many reasons why they are buying vitamins pills. I will analze both perspectives regarding this questions in following paragraphs.

Firstly, people do not have enough time to prepare homemade food which fullfill the amount of all vitamins. Thesedays, everyone are working, and they have a lot of stress related to their work . Therefore, they give prefrence to fast food because they do not have spend too much time on it. Secondly, lack of time propell to the individuals to buy vitamins pills because it is too easy to consume it. If they would eat healthy food, they have to spend time on it. However, they can take vitamins pills anytime like during a work or driving. They can save a lot of time, which they can spend on other works. Thus, they are buying vitamins tablets instad of eating healthy food.

There are several steps can be taken to persuad people to improve their healthy diet despite of using vitamins pills. Government can orgnaise free camps for people , so doctores can aware individuals regarding the negative outcomes of vitamins pills. Apart from it, authrity can implement the bans on fast food, so they people can not buy junk food. Regime can promote healthy foods everywhere. With the help of these steps, we could encourage people towards the healthy diet for getting all vitamins.

In conclusion, In my opinion, everyone should give preference to homemade food because it is good for health and can get proteins and vitamins inspite of using vitamins tablets.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both why people spend money on vitamin pills and how they might be persuaded to improve their diet instead. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on why people buy pills focuses primarily on a lack of time due to work and the convenience of consumption, without exploring other psychological or economic factors. Similarly, the suggestions for persuading people, such as government camps and fast food bans, are basic and slightly under-developed. Furthermore, the introduction contains a minor prompt misunderstanding by stating 'I will analze both perspectives', whereas the prompt asks two distinct questions rather than two opposing viewpoints. Overall, the task is adequately addressed, placing the response firmly at Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, featuring an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is often faulty or mechanical. The student relies heavily on basic, repetitive transition markers such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Apart from it'. Additionally, referencing and logical progression are occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'lack of time propell to the individuals'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas, but the internal flow within paragraphs suffers from repetitive structures and mechanical linking. These issues align well with the Band 6 descriptors for Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating ideas about health, diet, and busy lifestyles with terms like 'homemade food', 'fast food', and 'negative outcomes'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'analze', 'propell', 'orgnaise', 'doctores', and 'authrity'. Furthermore, collocation and phrasing are sometimes unnatural, such as 'vitamins tablets' instead of 'vitamin tablets' or 'taking vitamins pills' instead of 'taking vitamin supplements'. The student attempts less common vocabulary, but these lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips prevent the score from reaching a higher band, making Band 5.5 the most accurate reflection of current performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writing exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over conditional structures ('If they would eat healthy food, they have to spend time on it') and subordinate clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in tense, agreement, and preposition use. Examples include 'Doctors suggest us that', 'everyone are working', 'they do not have spend too much time', and 'There are several steps can be taken'. Punctuation errors, such as spaces before commas, are also present. While these errors do not severely impede overall communication, their frequency across both simple and complex sentences places the grammar performance squarely within the Band 5.5 descriptor level.
