Student answer (Band 7.0)
In today's fast-moving world, having a healthy and fit body is a miracle. People eat junk food and frozen meals because of the convenience it provides. To overcome the side effects and meet their body's dietary needs, people rely on vitamins and nutrition supplements such as pills and protein powders. This essay will discuss the factors responsible for this trend and steps that could encourage people to eat healthy food rather than take pills.
To begin with, people choose vitamin pills over a healthy diet because of dietary gaps due to a busy lifestyle. Nowadays, many people spend the majority of their daytime at their workplace; therefore, it becomes difficult for them to cook food or follow a healthy diet. As a result, they take pills and other sources of vitamin supplements to meet their body needs. For example, one of my friends work from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, and because of his busy lifestyle he rely on protin powders and energy pills to keep himself vigorous entire day. Moreover, food quality and restricted eating patterns mean many people genuinely fall short of ideal nutrient levels. At the same time, vitamin pills become a one-stop solution for them because following a healthy diet means they need to eat lots of vegetables and sprouts; at the same time, one small pill provides them with all vitamins.
Taking certain steps could influence people to follow a healthy diet. First and foremost, health camps and nutrition seminars can help people to understand and incubate the healthy diet into their lifestyle. These campaigns should explain the iron and fiber that are missing from pills and how they can obtain these nutrients from healthy food. As a result, it will help people to understand that some of the vitamins cannot be replicated by pills. What is more, the government should make a policy for nutrition labels on food products. This will strictly prohibit food manufacturers from misleading people on nutirent content available in food and help people follow their diet according to their body requirements. Furthermore, Doctors and nutritionists can offer realistic, step-by-step meal prep templates instead of telling busy patients to achieve a "perfect diet" from scratch.
To sum up, consuming pills to overcome vitamin and nutrition deficiencies is convenient and easy, but it may create health issues for some. Therefore, a healthy diet is a safe and secure option because of its proven results over the years.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response effectively addresses all parts of the prompt. The candidate presents clear reasons why people spend money on vitamin pills, attributing the trend to dietary gaps, busy lifestyles, and the sheer convenience of a single daily tablet compared to meal preparation. Furthermore, the essay offers practical and well-developed solutions to persuade individuals to improve their diets, such as health camps, mandatory nutrition labelling, and practical meal-prep templates. Ideas are extended with a relevant personal example and logical explanations. The position is clear throughout the text and maintained consistently from the introduction to the conclusion, earning a solid Band 7.0 for fully answering all requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The response is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct focus, moving smoothly from the introduction to the causes, solutions, and a concise conclusion. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, such as 'To begin with', 'As a result', and 'Moreover', though some referencing could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately and effectively separates the main themes of the essay. While cohesion is generally clear and straightforward, occasional slight mechanical transitions prevent it from reaching the higher band. Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for a strong Band 7.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The candidate demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating less common and topic-specific terms such as 'dietary gaps', 'nutritional supplements', 'food manufacturers', and 'nutrition seminars'. There are occasional minor lexical or spelling inaccuracies, such as 'protin' instead of 'protein' and the phrase 'incubate the healthy diet into their lifestyle' which feels slightly unnatural in collocation. Despite these occasional slips, the vocabulary is adequate to convey precise meanings and maintain the reader's understanding, easily satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The writer showcases a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, utilizing conditional and subordinate clauses effectively, such as 'To overcome the side effects and meet their body's dietary needs, people rely on...' and 'This will strictly prohibit food manufacturers from misleading people...'. There are some grammatical errors and minor slips present, for instance, 'one of my friends work' instead of 'works' and 'he rely' instead of 'relies', as well as minor punctuation issues. However, these errors do not impede communication, and the frequent error-free sentences demonstrate good overall grammatical control, placing the response securely in the Band 6.5 category.
