Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both why people spend money on vitamin pills (lack of time and aggressive advertising) and how they could be persuaded to improve their diet. A position is presented throughout the introduction and body paragraphs. However, ideas are somewhat under-developed due to the short length and an abrupt ending where the final sentence trails off unfinished ("so that individ..."). Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 222 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. This lack of full development and failure to meet the minimum word count places the response firmly at Band 5.0 for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response shows some organization with a clear introduction and body paragraphs, though the text cuts off abruptly before a proper conclusion can be formed. Cohesive devices are attempted (e.g., "One of the significant reasons", "Instead of this", "Firstly"), but some referencing is faulty or unnatural, such as "which enables them to prepare healthy meals" when the intended meaning was likely the opposite. Paragraphing is generally visible, but the lack of a concluding paragraph and the truncated ending disrupt the overall progression of ideas. Cohesion is at times mechanical or inadequate. This performance corresponds to Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like "increasingly common", "beneficial", and "advertising". However, there are notable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices throughout the text, such as writing "nutrious food" instead of nutritious food, "schdules" instead of schedules, and "easy meal food" instead of convenience foods. Phrasing such as "fullfil nutrients value in body" is also awkward and inaccurate. These noticeable errors and limited precision restrict the score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. For instance, the sentence "which enables them to prepare healthy meals as it requires large time" contains a logical contradiction and grammatical awkwardness. There are several spelling and grammatical errors throughout the text, including punctuation omissions and word-form errors like "government shouls provide some information the benefits" and "theyh cvan provide". These frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and reflect a Band 5.0 level of grammatical control.
