Student answer (Band 5.5)
Healthcare professionals advice to the society that our diet should be planned to get all the vitamins from diet that are neccesary for our body. However, certain individuals are spending money on just vitamin pills rather than to eat good diet to complete the nutrition in our body. In this dissertaion, i will discuss both sides before reaching any conclusion.
Firstly, i would like to state that number of people are spending money on supplements influnced by social media. Nowadays, some brands are promoting their supplement in very attractive ways on social media like: Instagram, Tik-Tok, Facebook etc. to get their attention for fast results rather than healthy diet. In addition to this, i would say lack of knowledge regarding healthy diet for everyday routine. Another point is that some fake companies are relating their supplement with diseases like skin pigmentation, dark circles, diabetic patients. For example, a brand is advertizing that if we take vitamin c, retinol that will improve your skin, so people wants a quick result with pills rather than to eat helathy diet long time and wait.
There are so many ways to encougre the society to eat a full nutrition food rather than buy costly supplements. It could be started by providing the free camps where a dietitian can give the knowldege about a best food for healthy life. Moreover, there should be a one article on every newspaper about nutritional food for different ages.
In conclusion, although vitamin pills can be useful in some cases but a balanced diet is the best way to get the good nutritional for our body.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing reasons why people spend money on vitamin pills (such as social media influence and a lack of nutritional knowledge) and offering solutions to persuade people to improve their diet (such as free educational camps and newspaper articles). However, the introduction misinterprets the prompt's structural requirement by stating 'In this dissertation, i will discuss both sides,' which is inappropriate for an essay on this topic. Furthermore, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive in places. While the main points are relevant, the support is brief, which places this response comfortably in Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is arranged into four paragraphs, providing a coherent overall structure with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion within and between sentences is occasionally faulty or mechanical. For example, the transition 'Firstly, i would like to state that number of people...' lacks smooth integration, and referencing is sometimes imprecise, as seen with 'a brand is advertizing that if we take vitamin c...'. Paragraphing is used, but the overall progression of ideas feels a bit disjointed due to grammatical interferences and basic cohesive devices. This aligns well with the descriptors for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting less common items such as 'pigmentation,' 'dietitian,' and 'supplements.' However, there are notable word-choice errors, incorrect collocations, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, including 'neccesary,' 'influnced,' 'advertizing,' 'encougre,' and 'nutritional' used instead of 'nutrition.' Expressions like 'complete the nutrition in our body' or 'eat a full nutrition food' are unnatural. Because the vocabulary errors do not completely impede communication, the response meets the criteria for Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositional phrases, such as 'Healthcare professionals advice to the society,' 'rather than to eat good diet,' and 'providing the free camps.' Capitalisation errors are also present, such as lowercase 'i' used as a personal pronoun multiple times. While some complex sentences are successfully formed, the accumulation of grammatical inaccuracies causes some difficulty for the reader, placing the performance at Band 5.0.
