Student answer (Band 6.0)
Doctors are one of most important healthcare professionals in society. Doctors advise us that a healthy diet is sufficient to fulfill the requirements of the body's vitamin. Despite knowing this, many individuals continue to spend a large amount of money on vitamin pills. I believe that this is particularly because increased consumption of unhealthy food and vegan diets. To overcome this concern, government should arrange awareness campaigns and increase cost of unhealthy foods.
There are several possible reasons for increased intake of vitamin pills. The one of the most important reasons for increased use of vitamin pills is unhealthy dietary habit. Nowadays, increasing number of people are rely on junk food and fast food due to their convenience and increaed taste. Although they are tasty, they contain a minimal amount of necessary vitamins and ingredients resulting reduce metabolism and growth of the body. For example, pizza and pasta are prepared with more fatty and unhealthy ingredients, which made it necessary for people to take another source of vitamins to fulfill their body requirement. Such food habits lead to deficiency of vitamins and increase consumption of pills regardless of the cost. Another important reason is people who only consume vegan diet. Vegetarian food doesn't contain appropriate amount of nutritions and vitamins lead to increase deficiency of vitamins and eventually develop chronic diseases. To fulfill their dietary requirements, it is necessary for people to use expensive vitamin pills.
There are several measures could be taken to overcome this issue such as awareness campaigns. Governments can spread awareness of healthy diets and their benefits to people through advertisements and campaigns, apart from this, in the technological era, it would be advantageous if spread awareness through social media can target young population. At the same time provide education of how unhealthy foods can adversely affect their health affect positively on people's mindset. Secondly, increase cost and tax of junk foods can reduce consumption of junk foods. In contrast, reduce the cost of healthy diet can increse uptake of healthy diets with appropriate vitamins.
To conclude, although unhealthy diets are tasty, they contain inappropriate amount of vitamins and fibers lead to increased consumption of costly vitamins pills. Measures such as awaremess campaings and impose tax and reducedcost can improve people's dietary habits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, offering clear reasons why people spend money on vitamin pills—specifically citing unhealthy dietary habits and vegan diets—and suggests logical measures to encourage better diets, such as awareness campaigns and taxation on junk food. A clear position is maintained throughout. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or contain sweeping generalizations, such as the claim that vegetarian food lacks appropriate nutrients. While the arguments are generally relevant and well-supported with examples like pizza and pasta, further extension of these points would be needed for a higher band. Overall, the task is answered satisfactorily, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical organization. The introduction outlines the writer's stance, body paragraphs address the separate prompts respectively, and a conclusion summarizes the main points. Paragraphing is used appropriately. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'The one of the most important reasons' and 'Secondly, increase cost' contain grammatical slip-ups that make cohesion slightly awkward. Referencing is mostly clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother with more flexible cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'metabolism', 'deficiency', and 'advocates' (implied context). However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'fulfill the requirements of the body's vitamin' instead of 'vitamins', 'are rely on' instead of 'rely on', and 'increaed taste'. Spelling errors like 'increaed' and 'awaremess' also occur. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structures. However, frequent grammatical errors are present throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('increase consumption... and vegan diets', 'government should arrange'), missing articles ('increase cost of unhealthy foods'), and awkward phrasing ('which made it necessary'). Punctuation and word form errors ('reduce metabolism' instead of 'reducing metabolism') are also noticeable. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 6.5 or higher.
