Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many Doctors advice people that from a healthy diet help us to obtain all the vitamis. Besides that, but some people still spend expense on vitamins pills.

Many people do not take doctos's advice seriously. As a result, they like to spend large amount of money on medicines. Other thing is many people suffer from vitamins deficiencies such as VItamin D and Vitamins B12 These two are common among other vitamins. Many physicians presribe patients to take vitamins. People who are obese they like to eat fried food. Therefore they consume variety of medications

There are several ways we can improve their diet such as introduce benefits and drawbacks of unhealthy diet including fried food, snacks, biscuits. We can organise campaigns and workshops where many local and urban areas people gathered together. As a result we can itroduce advantages and disadvantages and their adverse affect on our health. It does not affect our physical but mental also. We can tell advise them to consume enough protein rich sources if you are vegetarian you can eat paneer, soyabean, rajma, tofu. Besides this, if someone is non vegetarian they can consume eggs, chicken, fish. In addition, vitamin pills or any medications are so expensive. Instead of spending on medications or going to hospitals. We should eat wisely.

In conclusion, vitamin pills are essentail for our health but we should not just rely on medications. We must eat healthy balanced diet. As we know it is important and also less expensive. It improves overall physical well-being.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the task by discussing why people spend money on vitamin pills and suggesting ways to persuade them to improve their diet. A position is presented, but the development of ideas is limited and at times repetitive. For instance, the reasons given for buying vitamins—such as ignoring doctor advice or having deficiencies like 'Vitamin D and Vitamins B12'—are underdeveloped. Similarly, the solutions proposed, such as organising campaigns and eating protein sources like 'paneer, soyabean, rajma, tofu', are mentioned rather than fully explained or extended with clear examples. This places the response comfortably at Band 5, as it addresses the prompt overall but lacks sufficient depth and full elaboration across both questions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at structural organisation. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by abrupt transitions and mechanical cohesive devices like 'Besides that, but' and 'Other thing is'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'People who are obese they like to eat fried food. Therefore they consume variety of medications', where the logical link between obesity and taking medications is weakly constructed. Paragraphing is used, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is faulty due to missing articles and abrupt shifts in topic. These issues align with Band 5 descriptors, where organisation is present but overall progression is unclear and cohesive devices are inadequate or inaccurate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently revolving around simple terms like 'money', 'vitamins', 'diet', and 'food'. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'vitamis', 'expense' instead of expenses, 'doctos's', and 'itroduce' instead of introduce. While the student attempts some topic-specific vocabulary ('deficiencies', 'presribe', 'obese', 'vegetarian'), inaccuracies in word choice and spelling are common. The range is minimally adequate for the task, but errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5 profile where vocabulary is limited and mechanical errors in spelling and word formation are noticeable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Doctors advice', 'people who are obese they like'), missing articles ('from a healthy diet help', 'consume variety'), and incorrect prepositions or structures ('It does not affect our physical but mental also'). Punctuation is also problematic, marked by sentence fragments and run-on structures like 'These two are common among other vitamins.' Because frequent errors are present and often cause difficulty for the reader while complex structures are frequently faulty, a Band 5 score is appropriate.
