Student answer (Band 5.5)

All the doctors advices to have healthy food for all the vitamins although, many people take a vitamin pills such as iron, B12, vitamin D so on to fulfill their vitamin deficiency. People take all this medicine because of they prefer to eat unhealthy food instead of healthy dishes. I would like to say that we should follow healthy diet rather than spend money on vitamin supplements.

First reason for people spend lot money on vitamin pills is that, In this unhygienic world more and more people like to eat more junk food specially youngsters. This kind of food could not contain any kind of vitamins. Moreover, people are show their laziness towards physical activity such as yoga and exercise. For this reason many youngsters have to face disease such as iron deficiency, lake of calcium, B12, and blood. So they have to take vitamin pills for fulfill their deficiency. This can be easy way to get all the nutrients. Take a prime example, In india, 70% womens suffering from B12 deficiency, lake of iron and calcium due to their poor diet. To fill their deficiency they spend lots of money on B12 injection and iron and calcium medicines rather than taking healthy fruits and vegetables.

On the other hand, people should eat food which contains high nutritional value. This can be cheaper than vitamins pills. Also this types of food never harm your body instead of it can boost your body stamina and metabolism power. Healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, dairy products have high level of vitamin, protein and fiber content. Government should run campaigns for attract people attention towards healthy food. They should advertise high fiber salads and dishes which contain all the nutrients. They should runs health awareness campaigns to aware society for their diet. Furthermore, Government should encourage people for yoga and exercise to stay fit and healthy. Take for instance, government should levied low duties on imports of vegetables and fruits so can all people can afford it and eat healthy. For restaurants owners, they should mention nutrition value in their menu so we can encourage people to eat high protein meals.

To conclude, vitamins pills is easy way to get vitamin for body but this medicines are more costly than fresh food even it could not affordable for poor people. Government should start health awareness programs and attract more and more people towards healthy food options instead of spend money on medicines.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: explaining why people spend money on vitamin pills and suggesting how they could be improved through diet instead. The student presents a clear position and supports it with relevant examples, such as referring to vitamin deficiencies in India. However, some ideas are slightly repetitive and under-developed, particularly in the analysis of why people consume these pills. The extension of ideas leans towards over-generalisation at times, placing the performance comfortably within the Band 6 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay is divided into clear paragraphs with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs addressing each prompt part, and a conclusion. Logical sequencing is generally maintained, but cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen with transitional phrases like "On the other hand" used where a contrasting point is not strictly necessary. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as ambiguous pronoun usage with "they" referring interchangeably to governments, restaurants, and individuals. Paragraphing is present and appropriate overall, fulfilling Band 6 criteria.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common terms such as "metabolism power," "nutritional value," and "deficiency." However, there are frequent noticeable errors in word choice and word formation, such as "lake of calcium" instead of "lack of calcium," "vitamins pills" instead of "vitamin pills," and "levied low duties" rather than "levied lower duties." These inaccuracies do not seriously impede communication, reflecting a typical Band 5 to 6 lexical profile, rounded to 5.5 for minor slips.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures are frequently marred by grammatical errors. Examples include "All the doctors advices to have healthy food..." and "people are show their laziness." There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, pluralisation, and missing articles (e.g., "in india, 70% womens suffering"). While these errors are frequent and cause some difficulty for the reader, communication is rarely completely obscured, matching the Band 5 descriptors.
