Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt directly: it discusses why people spend money on vitamin pills due to busy schedules, and it suggests ways people can improve their diet, such as fixing meal routines, exercising, and eating fruits. The position is clear throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas tends to be slightly repetitive and somewhat general. For instance, the example about Canada and the reference to a USA news headline lack specific supporting depth, placing the response solidly in Band 6. The main parts of the task are covered with relevant ideas, though the support for these ideas remains partially under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay demonstrates a clear overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different parts of the prompt. Cohesive devices are employed, such as "To begain with", "On the other hand", and "In conclusion", but referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. There are noticeable punctuation and spacing errors around commas and periods, and transitional phrases are occasionally awkward. Overall arrangement is coherent, earning a Band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as "nutrition", "overcome", and "capsuls". However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including "nutritions" instead of "nutrition", "sechadule" instead of "schedule", "begain" instead of "begin", "enhough" instead of "enough", "floks" instead of "folks", and "requriments" instead of "requirements". These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional clauses ("If people can fix their routine...") and concessive clauses ("Although, people spend money..."). However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors, including incorrect verb forms ("avoid to eat"), misuse of articles, and awkward phrasing ("is way they are busy"). Punctuation is particularly weak, with spaces preceding commas and periods. These errors occur regularly throughout the response, though communication is generally maintained, aligning with Band 5 descriptors.
