Student answer (Band 5.5)

Taking a healthy diet can cure the deficiency of vitamins. It's doctor point of view also. On the other hand individuals continue to spend a large number of amount on vitamin pills. They have many justifications to prove their opinion.

To commence with, in my perspective healthy diet must taken by individuals on daily basis. It's never become cause of any illness. In my opinion people are inspired by advertisement from such companies who launched vitamin. For example, Nutrifactor company increase his sales by advertising some famous actress. These actresses show how use of vitamins change their life.

Thus people wants to become more healthy and gorgeous like them and purchase these supplements.

Furthermore, it's important for individuals about awareness of healthy diet. They just want quick result and don't pay attention towards healthy diet. Doctors can play an important role in awareness of people. Government also should take steps such as seminars and advertisements. For example, in Chain, Government took step on easy access of healthy food and banned low quality and various type of junk food. So they live a healthy life now. we must understand that excessive use of these vitamins not beneficial. Doctors recommended them when deficiency was on its peak.

In conclusion, individuals mostly like to take vitamins instead of healthy food because its convenient way to fulfill deficiency. But people should must aware that healthy diet is 100 times better than taking medicine. These vitamin can fulfill the deficiency but they should never equivalent to healthy diet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task, meeting the prompt requirements by discussing why people purchase vitamin pills and suggesting ways to improve diets. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the explanation regarding advertising and celebrity influence is supported with an example ('Nutrifactor company increase his sales by advertising some famous actress'), but the second part concerning how to persuade people to improve their diets lacks depth and relies on broad generalisations, such as the brief mention of government steps in China. The position is generally clear throughout, but the lack of thorough elaboration keeps the response at this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to organise ideas into paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or faulty cohesion. Transitional markers such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'Thus' are used, but referencing and logical links between sentences can be abrupt. For example, the transition from discussing celebrities to the importance of awareness about a healthy diet lacks a smooth conceptual bridge. Paragraphing is present, but grouping and internal flow require better management to achieve a clearer overall progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'deficiency', 'justifications', and 'supplements'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause strain, such as writing 'a large number of amount' instead of 'a large amount', 'launch vitamin' instead of 'launch vitamins', and 'Chain' instead of 'China'. Spelling slips like 'gorgeous' (used in an awkward context) and grammatical word-form errors like 'healthy diet must taken' reflect limitations in lexical control, though communication is generally maintained.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in verb forms, voice, and articles, such as 'Taking a healthy diet can cure...' and 'healthy diet must taken by individuals'. Other noticeable errors include subject-verb agreement issues like 'company increase his sales' and missing articles or prepositions, such as 'important for individuals about awareness'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the writing from achieving a higher level of grammatical accuracy.
