Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people spend more money on the multivitamis tablets despite following the advice of doctors who mentioned that by following healthy diet we can easily get all vitamins from it through its nutrients. I think people want to get results in less time that is why they spend money on vitamins.

People can improve their diets by adopting various healthy meals preparation in their daily eating routines. There are many online platforms which can guide people to fix their diet by adding simple meals in their daily life and they also offer budget friendly options. As a result, without spending extra money people can get healthy diet which helps them to avoid taking vitamins.

Another way, people can fix their daily eating diet by getting more knowledge about the food. People can consult nutritionist which can help them to get a balanced diet and make a diet plan that includes all the necessary nutients or ingredients which helps them to stay fit so they do not have to include supplements to fulfil their daily needs.

In my opinion, people have to focus on their daily eating habits. By adding some healthy meals in their diet, it helps in getting all the required nutrients from it and they do not have to take additional vitamins. Also, they can follow some healthy diet plans which are also beneficial for them to stay healthy and fit.

In conclusion, by fixing their daily routine diets people can easily fulfil their daily nutritional value and they do not need to take extra vitamins. Also, with the guidance of nutritionist and online platforms people fix their diet and fulfil all the required nutrients from it, so they do not need to spend money on vitamins.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you suggest that people buy vitamins to get results quickly, and recommend online meal guidance and consulting a nutritionist as alternatives. These ideas are relevant, but the explanation of why people spend large sums is very brief; the essay gives only one reason and does not explain what makes pills seem more attractive or convenient. The proposed solutions are repeated in the final paragraphs rather than developed with specific examples or explanation of how they would persuade people. Your position—that a healthy diet can provide the needed nutrients—is clear, but fuller development of both the reasons and the practical impact of the solutions would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, separate paragraphs for suggestions, and a conclusion. The ideas are generally easy to follow, and phrases such as “As a result” and “In conclusion” signal relationships between points. However, progression is limited because the second and third body paragraphs both focus on improving diet, while the conclusion repeats several points already made. Some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Also” and “so they do not need to.” The opening also moves quickly from the prompt’s advice to the single reason without a clear transition. Organise the body around distinct reasons and solutions, and use referencing and linking more selectively to create a clearer progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “balanced diet,” “nutrients,” “supplements,” and “nutritionist,” so the main ideas are understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “daily diet,” “healthy,” and “fulfil,” and several expressions are not natural or precise. For example, “fix their diet” is less suitable than “improve or plan their diet,” while “daily eating diet” is awkward. There are also spelling errors in “multivitamis” and “nutients,” and “budget friendly” would be clearer as “budget-friendly.” Aim to vary key terms and check spelling and collocations; more precise phrasing would make the argument sound more fluent and assured.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a relative clause in “a diet plan that includes all the necessary…” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” Meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur often enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “despite following the advice of doctors who mentioned” has an unclear subject, and “by following healthy diet” is missing an article. In “By adding some healthy meals in their diet, it helps…,” the opening phrase does not match the subject of the main clause. There are also problems with agreement and sentence construction in “ingredients which helps them.” Practise building complex sentences with clear subjects, correct articles, and matching singular or plural verbs.
