Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often recommended by the docotors that healthy diet can help us to get all nutrients and vitiamns for body but still people perfer to take pills to complete vitamins in their body. There are some reasons behind this trend and with viable ways this can be reversed.

One main reason is lifestyle as people often busy in their job and did not get adeuqate time to prepare nutirition meals so while working they consume fast food just to satisfy their hunger and did not get proper nutrients for their body from meal therefore, taking a vitamin tablet is easy to compensate for an unhealthy diet.Secondly, soical media plays an important role as people get infulenced by advertisements. supplement companies claims that their products can improve energy levels and strengthen the immune system and gut health. As a result, consumers start taking pills to obtain essential nutrients for them. Moreover, sometime people may have particular deficiencies for which they have to take vitamins.

However, people can be encourged to improve their diets through education and awareness. schools could teach children about nutrition and demonstrate how simple, healthy meals can be prepared. Governments could also run campagins to make people aware that healthy food is more afforadable and easy to prepare as compared to taking pills.

In conculsion, people often prefer vitamins pills as these are convenient for them and easy solution for poor diet. Nevertheless, nutrition , eduvation and public awareness campagins and improved access to afford healthy food could persuade people to take balanced diet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions and maintain a relevant overall position: convenience and advertising help explain pill use, while education and public campaigns are proposed as alternatives. The first explanation is supported with a clear chain from busy work schedules to fast food and then supplements. You also mention specific deficiencies, but this point is only briefly stated, and the proposed campaigns would be stronger with an example of how they could change behaviour. The response therefore covers the task, but some ideas are less fully developed than others. To strengthen it further, explain why people trust supplement claims or give a concrete example of an affordable meal or public initiative.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph suggesting solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from causes to remedies is easy to follow, and signposts such as “One main reason,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “However” help guide the reader. This logical organisation is a strength. Some links within sentences are less controlled, however: the first reason paragraph runs several ideas together, and the transition from fast food to taking a tablet could be punctuated more clearly. The conclusion also repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Use full stops to separate long chains of ideas and vary referencing so connections remain clear without relying mainly on sequencing words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “nutrients,” “immune system,” “deficiencies,” “nutrition,” and “public awareness.” These choices show an attempt to discuss health and policy beyond very basic language. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “vitiamns,” “nutirition meals,” “vitamins pills,” and “afforadable.” Some wording is also vague, such as “complete vitamins in their body” and “improved access to afford healthy food,” which makes the expression less precise. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, for example “meet their nutritional needs” and “access to affordable healthy food.” This would make your vocabulary more accurate and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure in “As a result, consumers start taking pills” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “people often busy” needs a verb, and “did not get” does not fit the general present-tense meaning; “supplement companies claims” also has a subject–verb agreement error. Articles and sentence boundaries need attention in phrases such as “healthy diet” and in the long first reason sentence, where a full stop would prevent a run-on. Aim to use the present simple consistently for general claims, check agreement, and proofread articles and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
