Student answer (Band 6.0)

Physicians inform us that by eating nutricious diet, we can fulfill our vitamin requirements. Despite knowing this, some individuals continue to spend ample money on vitamin supplements. One of the reasons people take vitamin pills is poor work-life balance, and we can solve this issue by raising awareness regarding work-life balance.

Hectic work schedule is the reason why people opt for vitamin supplements to fullfil their requirements of vitamin. These days people work long hours to meet their needs, and they left with a little time to cook meals at home. They order food from various delivery applications or eat out in a restaurants, which is not beneficial for their health. For instance, coming late from work on a random week day can make a person lazy to cook food at house, and they can choose drive-thrus to eat so that time can be saved.

By raising awareness regarding work-life balance can help in spreading information about eating balanced diet. Governments should lauch campaigns so that people come to know the benefits of eating wholesome diet, and people can manage their work schedules effectively. This would not only result in improving work-life balance but also save a lot of people money on buying vitamin pills. For instance, on weekends, when professionals would not be busy, governments can take an initiative to lauch a campaign related to eating healthy diet.

To conclude, due to busy lifestyle, men and women opt for vitamin pills to satisfy their dietery requirements, and regulatory bodies can persuade citizens to eat balanced diet by spreading information.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions and maintain a clear central idea: busy schedules lead people to rely on supplements, while awareness campaigns could encourage healthier eating. The explanation that workers have little time to cook is relevant, and the example of choosing a drive-through after a late workday helps illustrate it. However, the response develops the causes more clearly than the proposed solution. Raising awareness about work-life balance is not fully connected to how people would change their diets, and the campaign example mainly describes when it might happen rather than what practical guidance it would provide. Explain more directly how education, meal-planning support, or accessible healthy food could change behaviour, and develop the reasons people spend large sums on pills rather than supplements generally.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph on the cause, one on the solution, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and examples are placed alongside the points they support. Linking phrases such as “For instance” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. At times, however, the connections between ideas are mechanical or unclear. The opening says work-life balance is both the reason and the solution, but the later explanation does not clearly show how awareness of balance leads to better food choices. The repeated focus on campaigns also limits progression. Make each paragraph’s main point explicit and use transitions that show the precise relationship between the cause and proposed action.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “vitamin supplements,” “wholesome diet,” “hectic work schedule,” and “regulatory bodies.” These choices make the subject clear, and some less common expressions show an effort to vary your language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “fulfill their requirements of vitamin,” “eat out in a restaurants,” and “at house.” There are also spelling errors, including “nutricious,” “fullfil,” “lauch,” and “dietery.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and control. Learn common combinations such as “meet nutritional needs” and check spelling carefully; also avoid repeating “work-life balance” and “campaign” when more specific terms would express your ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, and most of the argument remains easy to follow. For example, the sentence beginning “This would not only result…” attempts a more developed structure, while the examples use subordinate clauses to explain circumstances. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and clause construction. In “By raising awareness regarding work-life balance can help,” the introductory phrase leaves the sentence without a clear subject; write “Raising awareness … can help.” In “they left with a little time,” use “they are left,” and “eat out in a restaurants” has an article–plural mismatch. Review articles and verb forms, and check that each sentence has a complete, correctly structured main clause.
