Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, it is widely advised by doctors that people can get all required vitamins from having a healthy diet. In constrast, there are other humans continue to spend massive amounts on vitamin pills. I think people are easily influenced from social media. However, there are few steps can be taken to solve this matter.

To begin with, one major reason why people took medical pills of vitamin is that they are easily influenced from random post on social media plateform like Instagram. The person claims that vitamin C can produce noticeable improvements in skin appearance within 90 days or less, making the skin look younger. But, these types of pills should only be taken on advice of doctor, who test blood report and suggest right advice for health treatment. For example, vitamin B12 should be taken in control way like one pill per day whereas, overuse of B12 may resulted into high blood pressure. Hence, taking pills can cause some health problems.

However, there are a few recommendations that help people become aware of the misuse of vitamin supplements. Instead, they can obtain all the nutrients they need through their diet. Diet such as fruits, nuts, dairy products has all required vitamins for better health. Government authorities should organize free awareness compaign through social media plateform, university campus, local park, etc., so people can understand the benefits of choosing healthy diet instead vitamin supplements. For instance, Canadian government always conduct series of free events in Toronto park to spread right imformation regarding diet. Therefore, this steps can motivate people to take right action on their lifestyles.

To conclude, people should only take advice through medical certified doctor on recommendation on choosing healthy diet over vitamin supplements as it has some consequence on health problems and government authorities should take steps to encourage people for choosing health diet through campaign.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a relevant position: social-media claims help explain why people buy supplements, while public awareness campaigns are proposed as a way to encourage healthier eating. The examples about vitamin C and a campaign in Toronto make the response more specific. However, the reasons people spend large sums are not fully explored: the discussion focuses mainly on social-media influence and does not explain other possible motivations, such as convenience or belief that supplements work faster. The proposed campaign is relevant, but its likely impact and how it would change people’s choices could be explained further. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and a well-supported example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two questions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow, and the central topic remains consistent. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. At times, though, links are mechanical or the relationship between sentences is unclear. For example, “Hence, taking pills can cause some health problems” follows a specific claim about B12 without clearly connecting that risk to why people buy supplements. The conclusion also combines several points in a confusing sentence. Use clearer referencing and make each transition express the precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “vitamin supplements,” “nutrients,” “awareness,” and “social media,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “noticeable improvements.” However, word choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the phrasing awkward: “social media plateform,” “right imformation,” “medical certified doctor,” and “choosing health diet.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “other humans” and “medical pills of vitamin.” These issues keep the range from being consistently effective, although the main meaning is generally understandable. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling, and choose precise terms such as “supplements” and “health authorities” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a doctor, who test blood report” and a purpose clause in “so people can understand.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “there are other humans continue to spend” needs a relative clause or a different construction, while “Government authorities should organize” is followed by “this steps,” which does not agree in number. The conclusion’s structure, “take advice through medical certified doctor on recommendation on choosing,” is difficult to follow. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen the response.
