Student answer (Band 5.0)

Vitamins are really important for our bodies. There are different kinds of vitamins that can be taken organiclly or inorganically. Doctors advise us to intake all vitamins by having a healthy diet. But, unfortunately, people spend huge amount of money on vitamin pills nowadays.

I firmly believe that it is impossible to take all vitamins through healthy diet because of busy schedules. People are busy in becoming financialy strong which is making them physically weak. They do not have proper time to eat meal 3 times a day. Moreover, if they ever find time to eat proper meal, they prefer to have junk food. According to them, it is easy to take a pill in a day rather than spending more time in eating a meal.

It is my personal experience that I find it really difficult to have milk, nuts, broths and healthy diet when I gave birth to my baby. I remained busy with my baby and took expensive multi-vitamins pills. On the other hand my cousin took healthy diet during her postpartum and have no vitamins deficiency till now. People should be persuaded to improve their diet instead of buying vitamin pills. Doctors must tell their patients about the advantages of having vitamins oraginically. There is no side-effect of having rich vitamins fruits, vegetables and juices. Healthy diet is not only beneficial for vitamins but for entire deficiencies. It keeps us away from a lot of diseases. there is actually lack of awareness. Government must organize some health seminars for public.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you suggest that busy schedules and preference for junk food lead people to choose pills, and you recommend advice from doctors and public health seminars. The personal comparison between your postpartum experience and your cousin’s diet also gives the response relevant support. However, the explanation of why people spend large sums is brief, and the proposed ways to persuade them are mostly listed rather than explained—for example, you do not show how seminars or doctors’ advice would change people’s choices. The response is 243 words, seven words below the required minimum; 11 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation or example and meet the minimum length.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an explanation of why people choose pills, and a paragraph containing personal experience and suggestions. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the final paragraph combines the personal example, a recommendation to doctors, health benefits, and government seminars, so its progression is difficult to follow. Some connections are also unclear: “On the other hand” introduces a comparison, but the contrast is not fully explained. Separate the personal example from the recommendations, group related points together, and use references such as “this approach” only when their meaning is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “healthy diet,” “junk food,” “vitamin pills,” and “lack of awareness.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “postpartum” and “financially strong.” However, several spelling and word-choice errors make the language less precise, including “organiclly,” “oraginically,” and “intake” where “get” or “obtain” would be more natural. Some phrases are awkward or imprecise, such as “entire deficiencies” and “rich vitamins fruits.” Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas easier to understand and give you more flexibility in discussing health and public education.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the conditional structure “if they ever find time to eat proper meal” and the contrast between your experience and your cousin’s. However, errors occur frequently and sometimes make the relationships between ideas harder to follow. Examples include missing articles in “eat proper meal” and “spend huge amount,” the agreement error “my cousin took healthy diet … and have no vitamins deficiency,” and the sentence fragment or punctuation problem in “there is actually lack of awareness.” The sentence beginning “I firmly believe” also presents an unclear grammatical relationship between your belief and the following explanation. Practise article use, subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence construction, then proofread each sentence.
