Student answer (Band 6.5)
Balanced diet is of utmost importance to maintain healthy living. Nowadays, people are advised by health care professionals to eat nutritive food to maintain the essential vitamins and minerals threshold amount in the body. Despite having knowledge about this, many people tend to get multivitamin medications from market on regular basis. In my opinion this trend is increasing due to its conveniency and comact nature.
Vitamins are quintessential part of healthy living. First and foremost reason of people spending more money on getting readymade pills is their easy availability. Nutritive pills are conveniently available in the market. Individuals can get it either from grocery store or from any drug store. Moreover, people opt for this kind of readymade meds as they find it more easy way to reimburse the deficiency due to its compact make. For instance, in recent times, the packed vials of these pills are providing the daily recommended value of that particular mineral or vitamin in just one capsule, making it more accessible for the community people.
However, this can be mitigated by providing knowledge about importance of having healthy diet and getting essential nutrition from the diet itself. Advertisements or campaigns should be conducted to enhance the knowledge about foods providing minerals and vitamins in a budget friendly manner. For example, almost 500 mg of vitamin C can be received by an individual if they consume just one Indian gooseberry, making it almost 50% of daily recommended value of it.
In conclusion, although pills are more accessible and convenient way to cope up the deficiency of vitamins and minerals in a person's body, diet is more reliable and healthy source comparatively.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both questions and maintains a relevant position: convenience and easy access help explain purchases, while nutrition campaigns are proposed as an alternative. The examples of capsules supplying a daily amount and vitamin C in Indian gooseberry make the points more concrete. This meets the task well overall, but the explanation of why people spend “large sums” is not fully developed: availability and compactness are identified, yet the response could explain further why these benefits justify the expense or why people distrust food-based nutrition. The proposed campaigns are relevant, though their likely impact is asserted rather than explained. More balanced development of both causes and practical persuasion methods would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to reasons, proposed action, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish the two parts of the task, and signposts such as “First and foremost,” “Moreover,” and “However” make the progression easy to follow. Some connections are less precise or slightly mechanical. For example, “However, this can be mitigated” does not clearly identify whether “this” means pill use or vitamin deficiency, and the conclusion largely repeats the earlier contrast rather than drawing the argument together. The ideas within paragraphs are generally ordered logically, but clearer referencing and more explicit links between the proposed campaigns and reduced pill purchases would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
There is an adequate range for the topic, including “essential vitamins and minerals,” “daily recommended value,” “deficiency,” and “budget friendly.” The writer also attempts less common vocabulary, but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “nutritive pills,” “reimburse the deficiency,” and “compact make.” Spelling errors in “conveniency” and “comact” also detract from control. These do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, but they limit precision and naturalness. Prefer familiar, accurate collocations over elevated wording: for example, “nutritional supplements,” “address a deficiency,” and “compact packaging.” More precise language for cost and motivation would also help explain why people are willing to spend heavily.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex forms, including subordinate clauses such as “although pills are more accessible” and conditional phrasing in the example about consuming gooseberry. Meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors and awkward constructions persist. Examples include “Vitamins are quintessential part,” which needs an article, “Individuals can get it,” where the pronoun does not agree with the plural noun, and “on regular basis,” which also needs an article. In “making it more accessible for the community people,” the sentence structure is understandable but the relationship between the capsule and the people is not expressed cleanly. Review articles, pronoun agreement, and sentence construction, while continuing to use varied clauses.
