Student answer (Band 6.0)
Vitamins are a cruicial part of human body. Doctors advise to take vitamins from natural diet but some people prefer taking vitamin pills. Although, natural resources are considered the best and cheap source of vitamins for human body, some people still spend hefty amount of money on byuing the vitamin pills.
This has been noted that people get influenced by the marketing strategies of pharmaceutical industry and buy these pills based on social media influence. The more they see social media adds and the people influencing them to add multivitamins in their diet for better health, the more they buy these vitamin pills. People do not undergo the lab testing to see which sepcific vitamin or mineral they are lacking and they take these pills over the counter. Some of the people also get influenced by their family or friends to take multivitamins. For Example, a friend suggested to take Iron pills because she felt better after taling it and she will suggest it to another friend and so on. Taking un-prescribed multivitamins can do more harm than good in the long run.
It is advised by doctors to improve diet by taking natural diet instead of taking vitamin pills.Natural diet resources are cheap and they are not harmful for human body. People are advised to make a health plan and follow them accordingly in their diet. Moreover, they can also make a healthy plan with a certified nutritionist. This will save the expenditure and is also beneficial for human body. People should be made aware of the harmful effects of taking multivitamins through internet and health campaigns.
Although, vitamin pills are recommended to people who are actually facing a specific vitamin deficiency. These vitamins should always be prescribed by a certified physician after taking relevant tests. Natural diet is still the best source to overcome the vitamin deficiencies. It is recommmended to first try to compete the deficiency by taking natural fruits and vegetables but if the deficiency is still there then vitamin pills can certainly be taken.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both questions and maintains a relevant position: people are influenced by advertising and recommendations, while better diets can be encouraged through nutrition plans, professional advice and public-awareness campaigns. The example of a friend recommending iron pills helps illustrate how personal influence can spread. The final paragraph also adds useful qualification by recognising that supplements may be appropriate for diagnosed deficiencies. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the proposed health campaigns are not described in detail, and the claim that natural foods are not harmful is too absolute. To strengthen the response, explain more specifically how campaigns or practical support could change people’s choices, and develop the reasons behind the influence of advertising.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: it introduces the issue, explains why people buy supplements, suggests alternatives, and ends with a qualification about medically indicated use. Paragraphing supports this progression, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Although” help connect points. The sequence within the first body paragraph is also understandable, moving from marketing to social influence and then to an example. At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. “This has been noted that” is an awkward opening, and the final paragraph’s “Although” introduces a contrast without a complete main clause. Some ideas, such as diet plans and awareness campaigns, are placed together without explaining how they relate. Use more precise transitions and make each paragraph’s internal progression explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “marketing strategies,” “pharmaceutical industry,” “vitamin deficiency,” “certified nutritionist” and “health campaigns.” These choices show an attempt to go beyond basic wording, and the main message remains understandable. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the phrasing less natural: “cruicial,” “byuing,” “sepcific,” “adds” and “recommmended” should be corrected, while “natural resources” is not the clearest term for foods that provide vitamins. There are also awkward collocations such as “take vitamins from natural diet” and “make a health plan.” Build accuracy by checking spelling carefully and learning common combinations such as “obtain vitamins from a balanced diet” and “follow a meal plan.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the comparison “The more they see …, the more they buy” and the conditional idea “if the deficiency is still there, then vitamin pills can certainly be taken.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “Although, natural resources are considered…” uses a comma after a subordinating conjunction, and “vitamin pills.Pills” has no space after the full stop. In “People are advised to make a health plan and follow them,” the pronoun does not agree with “plan.” The final paragraph begins with “Although” but does not complete the contrast in a grammatically connected sentence. Review clause structure, agreement and sentence boundaries, while continuing to use varied sentence patterns.
