Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is usually suggested by professional dietitions to follow a healthy diet if people want to get all the vitamins that are essential for their health. While some individuals still choose to spend a considerable amount of money to purchase vitamin pills. There are several factors behid their this type of behaviour, and taking some viable steps people can be encouraged to have a healthy dieat rather than buying nutritional supplements.
One of the primary reason for huge expenditure on vitamin supplements is hectic life style of people. This is because nowadays, individuals are quite busy to earn money, and pursue a better career. They are in the race of becoming highly successful. Consequentely, they have not enough time to take proper and healthy meals even sometimes they have to skip their meals. Additionally those workers who have to stay away from their homes and are unable to cook outside their home usually prefer to consume healthy supplements. For example, long-haul truck drivers have to spend most of their days out of their homes, and they can not eat fresh home-made food with full of nutrients.
Another contributing factor is eating habits. Some people prefer to have more fast food as they do not like the taste of healthy food. So they mostly like to eat vitamin pills to complete the needs of their bodies. Some believe that it is quite arduous for them to cook all three meals at home, so they think that it is better to purchase supplemets instead of buying healthy food from outside, as there is no gurantee that the outside food is healthy or freshly cooked.
To change the behaviour of people towards supplements, several steps can be taken. Firstly, the government should limit the supply of pills by introducing some essential rules such as heavy taxes can be implemented on suppliers. Moreover, the governing bodies can provide some funds for awareness. Some seminars, webinars and campaigns can be organized to motivate people eat healthy diet and to tell about its enormous benefits.
To conclude, although people usually prefer vitamin supplements over a healthy diet due to their busy routine and lack of time, in my opinion their dietery habits can be improved with the inceatives of the governement and the local authorities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both questions and maintain a clear overall position: people buy supplements because of busy routines and food preferences, while public action could encourage healthier eating. The examples of truck drivers and people who dislike healthy food make the reasons relevant. The response also proposes taxes and awareness campaigns. However, the explanation of why pills are chosen is more developed than the persuasion strategies: taxes on suppliers are mentioned but their likely effect on consumers is not explained, and the campaigns are not illustrated with a specific message or practical support. The claim that people buy pills because they dislike healthy food could also be clarified, since supplements do not replace the experience of eating. More balanced development and clearer links between each proposal and its intended effect would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall progression: an introduction, two paragraphs explaining reasons, a paragraph proposing solutions, and a conclusion. Topic sentences such as “One of the primary reason” and “Another contributing factor” help readers follow the structure, while “Additionally,” “For example,” and “To conclude” signal relationships between ideas. This organisation is effective, though some connections are mechanical or not fully explicit. For instance, the move from busy workers to supplements would be clearer if you explained how pills seem more convenient than planning meals. The final paragraph repeats the main points but does not add much synthesis. Use referencing and transitions more precisely, and make the relationship between each example and its main claim explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including phrases such as “vitamin supplements,” “hectic life style,” “contributing factor,” and “awareness campaigns.” These choices help convey the main ideas, and some less common vocabulary is attempted. However, several spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural combinations reduce precision, including “dietitions,” “behaviour,” “supplemets,” and “enormous benefits.” Phrases such as “spend a considerable amount of money to purchase” and “provide some funds for awareness” could be expressed more naturally and specifically. Aim to check spelling carefully and learn vocabulary in common collocations, for example, how to describe a balanced diet, limited time, or public-health education. This would make the argument more fluent and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a conditional clause (“if people want to get all the vitamins”) and a relative clause describing truck drivers. Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors recur. The opening “While some individuals still choose…” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence, and “One of the primary reason … is” has a number-agreement error. Other examples include “they have not enough time” and “motivate people eat,” where the sentence patterns are not controlled. Review clause completeness, subject–verb agreement, and verb patterns after verbs such as “motivate.” More accurate control of these structures, alongside the complex sentences you already attempt, would improve clarity.
