Student answer (Band 6.0)

Although doctors advise that a balanced diet provides all the vitamins and nutrients the body needs, many people still spend money on vitamin pills. This essay will explain the reasons for this trend and suggest ways in which people could be encouraged to improve their diet instead.

One of the main reason why people are paying money on vitamin pills is due to a modern lifestyle where both men and women are working together. As they both are working for long hours, they dont have enough time to cook for themselves after reaching home from office. Most of the employees either order food from outside or eat at some restaurant before returning home. As a result, people are facing a lot of chronic health issues and vitamin deficiencies and looking for a quick alternative i.e Vitamin Pills. For example, a lot of professionals who work for long hours, taking supplements dialy as they dont get enough nutrition dialy.

There are various ways where people can be persuaded about a balanced diet. One such way is either doctors or nutritionists should post some easy, tasty and healthy recipies through instagram. As every human being from a child to Elderly are present on social media, this can be a great place where people can get knowledge about easy cooking. If people follow this easy cooking then there is no need of vitamins separately instead they can get the required amount of carbhohydrates, protein and fibre in a meal. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question and maintain a relevant focus. The explanation that long working hours leave people without time to cook gives a plausible reason for buying supplements, and the example of professionals taking them supports this point. You also offer a practical persuasion strategy: doctors or nutritionists sharing simple recipes on social media. However, the reasons are narrower than the task invites, and the claim that poor diets lead to deficiencies is asserted rather than explained. The proposed solution would be stronger if you explained how recipe content could change habits or mentioned other measures, such as public health advice or workplace initiatives. Some ideas are therefore relevant but less fully developed than others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph explaining the cause, one proposing a solution, and a conclusion. This makes the main progression easy to follow, and phrases such as “As a result” and “For example” help connect explanation and support. The organisation is effective, though some links feel mechanical or unclear. In the final paragraph, “Therefore” introduces a summary, but the sentence beginning “As people dont have enough time” is awkwardly joined to the next idea, making the relationship between cause and solution less smooth. The second body paragraph also moves from social media to nutritional content without fully spelling out the connection. More precise referencing and smoother transitions would make the progression more flexible.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “balanced diet,” “vitamin deficiencies,” “supplements,” and “nutritionists.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “chronic health issues” and “nutritious cooking.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive: “paying money on” would be more naturally expressed as “spending money on,” and “easy solution” is vague in this context. Spelling errors such as “recipies,” “dialy,” “carbhohydrates,” and “Gastroentrologist” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim to use a wider range of accurate health and lifestyle vocabulary, and proofread carefully so that spelling and collocation do not distract from your ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “where both men and women are working together” and a conditional structure in “If people follow this easy cooking.” The main meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “One of the main reason” needs a plural noun, while “professionals … taking supplements” lacks a finite verb. The final sentence is also difficult to control because several ideas are joined without a clear grammatical structure. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly after sentence openings such as “Therefore.” To improve, build complex sentences around a clear subject and finite verb, then check agreement and sentence boundaries.
