Student answer (Band 6.5)
Despite several advice from medical practitioners that people can get the essential vitamins they need from diet, some still spend large amount of money on vitamin pills, which may be due to its easy access and convenience. Therefore, healthcare providers need to organise awareness programmes to address this issue.
Nowadays, many individuals spend lots of money to buy vitamin-enriched supplements because they believe that is the best way to get the required vitamins to boost their immunity and limit the frequency of preventable diseases. Furthermore, we live in a fast-paced world where people have limited time to cook home-made foods that are rich in essential nutrients. As a result, people may settle for nutrient-enriched drugs because they are more convenient and accessible. For instance, making a homemade fruit juice requires an individual to squeeze the fruit, blend and adequately sieve the liquid. This process is labour intensive and requires a lot of time, which many people cannot spare. Therefore, they would rather buy vitamin pills to get the nutrients they require for healthy living.
However, the best form of nutrients needed by individuals can be gotten from diet. People can be persuaded to embrace healthy diet instead of buying pills, by increasing the public awareness of the importance of eating healthy. Doctors, nurses and dieticians can organise outreach and sensitisation programmes to enlighten the public on how the benefits of vitamin-rich foods such as its cost-effectiveness, body-friendly digestion and elimination process outweigh the convenience of buying vitamin drugs.
In conclusion, despite doctors' persuasion, some people still prefer to spend huge amount of money on vitamin-rich pills because of the convenience it offers. Nevertheless, the best method of getting essential body nutrient is from diet, so healthcare professionals may to organise sensitisation programmes to improve awareness and compliance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both questions and maintains a clear overall position: people choose pills for convenience, while health professionals can encourage healthier eating through public education. The explanation of limited time and the example of preparing fruit juice support the first point, and the proposed outreach programmes answer the second. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. The discussion of why people spend “large amount[s]” on pills focuses mainly on convenience and perceived immunity benefits; it could also explain why people trust supplements or how advertising influences them. The persuasion strategy is relevant but remains broad: a specific example of practical guidance or a community initiative would make it more convincing and fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two main aspects, and a conclusion that restates the position. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “As a result,” and “However” help show relationships between ideas, and the fruit-juice example follows logically from the point about time. At times, though, cohesion feels somewhat mechanical because several sentences rely on explicit connectors such as “Therefore.” Some referencing is also unclear: in “the benefits of vitamin-rich foods such as its cost-effectiveness,” “its” does not clearly refer to the plural “foods.” The conclusion repeats the main points rather than adding a concise final implication. More varied transitions and clearer pronoun references would strengthen progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
There is an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “essential nutrients,” “fast-paced world,” “preventable diseases,” and “sensitisation programmes.” These choices allow the writer to explain both the appeal of supplements and a possible public response. Some less common expressions are attempted, but word choice and collocation are occasionally inaccurate or unnatural. For example, “vitamin-enriched supplements” and “vitamin drugs” are less precise than “vitamin supplements,” while “body-friendly digestion and elimination process” is awkward and unclear. Repetition of “convenience,” “vitamin,” and “awareness” also limits flexibility. Aim for precise, natural collocations and avoid adding technical-sounding phrases unless their meaning is clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses such as “because they believe…” and “where people have limited time…”. Most ideas remain clear, and errors do not generally prevent understanding. Some grammatical inaccuracies persist, however. The opening has a determiner and number problem in “Despite several advice” and “a large amount of money”; “advice” is uncountable, and the latter needs an article or plural form. In “because of its easy access,” the pronoun does not agree clearly with “vitamin pills.” The final sentence also contains the faulty construction “may to organise.” Review countable and uncountable nouns, agreement, and modal verb patterns, while retaining the complex structures already attempted.
