Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that the supplements are not vital since the nutrition required for our body can be obtained by maintaining a balanced diet. Although it is correct, I don't fully agree with the fact that vitamin pills are not required. To support my statement, I would like to address several reasons.
First, Though we try to consume healthy and balance meal majority of the time, our body cannot fully absorb all the nutrients at a time. Minerals and protien are unable to constribute to health since the body is first trying to digest all the junk which is already being eaten. Moreover, few range of vitamins are not fully present in all types of food. For instance; Vitamin D3 essential for hair and bones, is found in non-veg dishes like fish and eggs. It can be also achieved from sunlight intake on regular basis.
Consequently, one does not get enough time of doing this every day in between of busy work schedules which makes medication mandatory. considering the rise of diseases like cancer and flu due to lack to nutrients people have started taking pills as a part of preventative measure despite having higher prices. Another reason of spending money is the fancy advertisements which made consumptions of the tablets look absolutely normal. Health influencers, celebrities and few doctors too prescribe and promote taking minerals and vitamin supplements to maintain their skin and hair which works as shortcut to healthy body.
However, I believe that people should focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle rather than being dependant on capsules. There should be striking balance and one should only eat alternatives whenever priscribed. One of the idea to percieve people is make them aware about the harmful solutions used to prepare the pills. For example; workshops can be conducted across hospitals.
This can substanially decrease the usage.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and give a clear overall view: you explain that busy schedules, concerns about nutrient intake, and advertising can lead people to buy supplements, then suggest awareness workshops as an alternative. These are relevant points, but they are not developed equally. The discussion of advertising and influencers is reasonably clear, while the claim that the body cannot absorb nutrients because it is digesting “junk” is confusing and needs more reliable explanation. The second part is also brief: workshops are mentioned, but you could explain what information they would provide and how this might change people’s choices. A more consistent position on when supplements are necessary would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, reasons for supplement use, and a final paragraph proposing an alternative. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Consequently,” and “However” help signal relationships between ideas. However, some connections are not fully logical: “Consequently” introduces the point about busy schedules without clearly showing how it follows from the preceding discussion of nutrient absorption. The final paragraph also moves quickly from a general recommendation to workshops and then to “This can substantially decrease the usage,” whose reference is not entirely clear. Organise each body paragraph around one main point and use clearer links between the explanation and its example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “balanced diet,” “nutrients,” “preventative measure,” “advertisements,” and “supplements.” Some less common expressions are attempted, but inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling reduce precision. For example, “fancy advertisements” is vague, “healthy body” is less natural than a more specific phrase, and “harmful solutions used to prepare the pills” is unclear and may overstate the point. There are also spelling errors such as “protien,” “constribute,” “priscribed,” and “substanially.” Choose precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas easier to follow and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although it is correct” and a relative clause in “which makes medication mandatory.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy and occasionally make relationships unclear. Examples include the missing space and sentence boundary in “not required. To support,” the awkward construction “one does not get enough time of doing this,” and “One of the idea … is make them aware,” which needs a plural noun and a correctly formed infinitive. Capitalisation after full stops is also inconsistent, as in “considering.” Review sentence boundaries, articles, agreement, and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for a complete and natural structure.
