Student answer (Band 6.0)

Healthy food is enough for all the vitamins that human needs, this often recommended by doctors. However, spending major amount of finances on vitamin pills is still continue by some individuals. I fully endorse the given statement and arguements supporting my contenions will be discussed in the impending paragraphs.

The first and the formest reason is affordability. In other words, vitamin pills are usually a cheaper option to complete the vitamins intake as compare to diet. Due to this reasons more people prefer to consume pills. Moreover, It is easily available to buy vitamin pills from any super market as a result people buy it more often than it required. For example, sale of nutrition products at walmart increased considerably after 2020 and predicted to get double by end of 2030. Thus, easy availability and affordability is more conventional for public to buy pills.

Conversely, it is not difficult to educate people to choose the diet over vitamin pills by promoting the merits of healthy food. To make it more clear, using the iternet to spread the awareness about the advantages of good diet could be very beneficial. Secondly, lowering the price of healthy food items so that each member of society can buy the good food easily. Two Wide-ranging surveys carried out in Spain in 2019 revealed that 41% of young people choose diet over vitamin pills if price is same. Hence, Spreading awareness and maintining reasonable price is crucial.

In conclusion, cost effectiveness and easy availability are major factors responsible for the increase in demand of vitamin pills. Nevertheless, It could be solved by good education and cost friendly healty foods.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions and maintain a clear overall position: you explain that affordability and availability encourage purchases, then suggest awareness campaigns and lower prices for healthy food. The examples about supermarket access and the survey help make the points relevant. However, some reasoning is asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that pills are cheaper than getting vitamins through diet needs clarification, since the task states that a healthy diet can provide the vitamins people need. The proposed ways to persuade people are relevant, but the survey example is not clearly connected to how persuasion would work. More explanation of why people choose pills and how the suggested measures would change their behaviour would strengthen the response further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear four-paragraph structure, with one paragraph for reasons, one for solutions, and a conclusion that summarises the main points. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Conversely,” and “In conclusion” make the overall progression easy to follow. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. “Conversely” suggests a contrast, although the next paragraph shifts to the second task question rather than directly opposing the previous point. The example about Walmart is introduced but its relevance to affordability is not fully explained, and “Thus” repeats the preceding claim rather than drawing a distinct conclusion. Use transitions that show the exact relationship between ideas, and make each example clearly support the point before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to health and consumer choices, including “vitamin intake,” “easy availability,” “promoting the merits,” and “cost effectiveness.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, which help convey the argument. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural: “complete the vitamins intake,” “more conventional for public,” and “maintining reasonable price” are examples. Several expressions also sound unnecessarily formal or imprecise, such as “impending paragraphs” and “major amount of finances.” Aim for common, accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would make your ideas clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if price is same” and a relative clause in “products … which … increased.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms recur. For example, the opening joins two independent clauses with a comma, while “this often recommended” is missing an auxiliary verb. In “vitamin pills is still continue,” the verb form and agreement are incorrect; “as compare to” also uses an incorrect grammatical form. Articles and plurals are sometimes missing, as in “if price is same.” Work on complete sentence boundaries, auxiliary verbs, agreement, and article use, while continuing to practise complex structures accurately.
