Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, spending large amounts of money on vitamin pills has become more popular. Although, most doctors tell us that we can get all the vitamins we need from the healthy food, I believe many people still purchasing these vitamin pills because they believe these vitamins pills could help them to stay healthy and it is easier than following a hard diet system.

One major reason for this issue is these vitamin pills are easy to use. This is mainly because people who buying these vitamins they can get it easily without consulting a doctor. For example, these pills are avilable almost in all pharmacies. Many individuals think to improve their health, leading to higher consuming rate. In other words, people mistakenly maintain that these pills could help them to become helthier without need to visit a doctor or follow a hard deit systm. Consequently, this can have a significant impact on people health.

However, one effective way to persuad people improve their health by eating healthy food instead of wasting money on vitamin pills is by aware them about the consequences and the side effects of these pills. By making awareness ads and sessions, people can get more knowledge about the dangers of consuming these pills and the benefits of eating healthy food. If govenments offered more awareness posts about this issue, citizens would have more information about these pills. Admittedly, some doctors contend that these pills does not have any side effects and no need to ask your doctor before take it; however they are the exception rather than the rule. As a result, this can have a major effect on individuals budget.

In conclusion, this trend mainly due to these vitamin pills are avilable any where and does not require consulting a doctor, and I believe the best way to reduce the risk of this issue is making people aware about their side effects. Therefore, awareness posts and ads should be supported by the governments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions and give a consistent central explanation: people choose pills because they are convenient and easy to obtain, while public awareness could encourage healthier eating. The examples of pharmacies and government awareness campaigns are relevant. However, the reasons are only partly developed. The response focuses mainly on availability and convenience, without exploring other possible motivations, such as busy lifestyles or beliefs about quick results. The proposed solution also concentrates on warning people about side effects; explaining how to make nutritious meals affordable and practical would answer the second question more fully. The claim that some doctors say pills have no side effects is not clearly supported and distracts from your main argument. Develop each point with a clearer explanation or specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining why people buy pills, a paragraph proposing awareness campaigns, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “However,” and “As a result” help signal the direction of the discussion. The progression is generally understandable, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Many individuals think to improve their health, leading to higher consuming rate” does not clearly show how the ideas relate, and “this can have a major effect on individuals budget” is not explicitly connected to the proposed campaign. Use clearer referencing and make each sentence’s relationship to the paragraph’s main point explicit. A more direct transition from the reasons to practical ways of changing behaviour would strengthen the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “vitamin pills,” “side effects,” “awareness,” and “consequences.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “a significant impact.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “higher consuming rate,” “awareness posts,” “helthier,” and “deit systm”; “vitamin pills” and “healthy food” are also repeated frequently. Choose more natural combinations, such as “higher consumption,” “public information campaigns,” and “a balanced diet,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary for people’s motivations and practical dietary changes would help you express the ideas with greater flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If governments offered more awareness posts … citizens would have more information,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “I believe many people still purchasing” needs a finite verb, while “people who buying” and “these pills does not” show problems with verb forms and subject–verb agreement. The opening “Although, most doctors tell us…” is also incorrectly punctuated and does not connect smoothly to the main clause. Practise building accurate clauses before adding complexity, and check that each sentence has a correctly formed subject and verb. Greater control of these patterns would make your argument easier to follow.
