Student answer (Band 6.5)

Some people prefer to invest more money on vitamin pills to get all the vitamins rather than improving their diet. The reasons behind this could be insuffiencient absorbtion of the vitamins from a healthy diet or to get mental satisfaction after having all the vitamins pills. People could be persuaded to improve their diet by spreading online awareness on healthy food intake or by including nutritional programs in education.

Firstly, nowadays many companies promote their medication brand by several attractive advertisements. This may divert person's mind towards external suppliments. It is highly accepted that human needs enough vitamins and minerals for good function of the body, which sometimes can be satisfied with external snutritional suppliments. However, people can not see vitamins in their food, so it is hard for them to believe the existance of the vitamins in their diet. Therefore, they usually buy vitamins pills and these pills will make them assure about their intake of vitamis. For example, people take vitamin D pills to improve their vitamin deffiency instead of spending more time in sunny atmosphere. Furthermore, one of the reasons of taking vitamin pills is the satisfaction of getting enough nutrients. They feel stress free after taking pill, because they do no have to worry about their diet. As working people are busy, they can not spend a lot of time behind shopping and cooking healthy food, they prefer to eat pre-made or instant frozen food. As a result, they may not get sufficient nutrition from this kind of diet. So, taking vitamins pills could be convenient options for them.

Secondly, there are multiple ways to improve people's diets. The best way to educate children and youngsters is include subjects related to nutrition and diet and diet related health issues. They may get enogh knowledge in their young age, which encourages them an their parents to eat healthy food in their daaily meals. For example, if schools include fruits and green vegetables in their daily meals, students will ask for the same kind of food at home too. Another way to influence people for healthy diet is availability of videos on healthy reciepies on the internet. People spend most of their free time on the internet, if they can utilise that time into watching some inspirational videos on healthy food, it may improve their diet. They may get motivation to cook healthy and tasty meals for their family and friends. For instance, many social media influencers post attractive videos and pictures protein meals with the ingredients availabe at home.

In conclusion, although vitamin pills are helpful to provide external support to human body, healthy diet may help to get all the vitamins without spending a large amount of money on other suppliments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response addresses both questions and maintains a clear overall position: people buy supplements for reassurance and convenience, while education and online cooking content could encourage healthier eating. The explanations are relevant and supported with examples, such as vitamin D tablets and schools serving fruit and vegetables. This fits the descriptor because the main ideas are extended and supported. Some points, however, are asserted more than fully explained: the claim that people cannot trust vitamins in food, for instance, could be clarified, and the proposed influence of social-media videos would benefit from a more specific account of how this changes behaviour. The conclusion restates the contrast but could more directly summarise the proposed ways to persuade people.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph explaining why people buy pills, a second addressing ways to improve diets, and a conclusion. The sequence within the body paragraphs is generally logical, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “Secondly” help readers follow the discussion. This meets the lower-band expectation of clear organisation and shows some flexibility in linking examples to claims. However, cohesion is occasionally mechanical, with repeated “people” and “they,” and some links between ideas are not fully clear. For example, the shift from busy workers to the convenience of supplements could be connected more explicitly. Varying transitions and using more precise references would make progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response has enough vocabulary to discuss nutrition, advertising, education, and convenience, including terms such as “nutritional programs,” “vitamin deficiency,” and “inspirational videos.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “suppliments,” “existance,” “vitamis,” and “reciepies”; “external nutritional supplements” is also an awkward phrase, and “spend time behind shopping” is not idiomatic. Repetition of “healthy food,” “vitamin pills,” and “people” limits the range. To improve, check spelling carefully, learn common collocations such as “spend time shopping” and “nutrient intake,” and use more precise alternatives where ideas recur.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “if,” and “although,” and the meaning is generally clear. Some errors occur in sentence construction and punctuation, but they rarely prevent understanding. For example, “The best way to educate children and youngsters is include subjects” needs an infinitive (“is to include”), while “if they can utilise that time into watching” has an incorrect grammatical pattern. The sentence beginning “People spend most of their free time on the internet” joins two independent clauses with only a comma. There are also occasional article and agreement problems, as in “a convenient options.” Review infinitive patterns, clause boundaries, and singular/plural agreement while retaining the complex structures you already attempt.
