Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is a surge on vitamin pill consumption recently. In order to keep the body healthy people are buying more pills than trying to eat something. Maybe because of the ease of availability and accessibility to those pills, people are relying on these rather than thinking about the consequences.

Healthy diet became an option now. According to the statistics, spendage on vitamin pills are skyrocketing. Despite of the warnings and advice from doctors, people are ignoring even the excistence of someyhing called, a healthy diet. Eating healthy and consuming pills are two different things. Having a healthy and balanced diet is a luxury now a days. For instance, If we go to a supermarket and check what people buy from there, you would not see any healthy options in their cart. Instead of healthy vegetables, they would be picking packed and synthetic vitamins. The consumers of those vitamin pills are crazy numbers.

More than good, overconsumption is going to give very bad health effects. As I mentioned earlier, to meet the demands of the customers more and more pills are introduced in the market now. This is alarming.

In contrast, there are a lot of initiatives towards leading a healthy life. More people now a days are drawn towards the idea of healthy lifestyle but most of them are falling for those kind of heist. Instead, proper education should be given to everyone on what os healyhy and what's not. Sometimes, people might be clueless about what to buy and not to, because there are too mang choices in front of them. Proper education is vital here. Also, letting them know that you cannot build a healthy diet on pills.

To conclude, Vitamin pills are good but consuming in minimal quantities. But to follow a healthy diet, pills are not helpfull, knowing what is good is the key.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions in a general way: you suggest that convenience and availability encourage pill use, and that education could help people choose healthier foods. However, the reasons are not consistently explained, and some claims are unclear or unsupported. For example, “ease of availability and accessibility” is relevant but needs a fuller explanation of why this leads people to spend large sums. The supermarket example illustrates your view, but it makes a broad assumption about what shoppers buy and does not clearly show how people could be persuaded to change. Your conclusion also says pills are “good” in minimal quantities without explaining this position or relating it to the doctors’ advice. Develop each answer with a clear explanation and a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has paragraphs and a recognisable overall shape, moving from reasons for pill use to possible solutions and a conclusion. Some linking expressions, such as “For instance,” “In contrast,” and “To conclude,” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the second paragraph shifts from diet becoming an option to statistics, doctors’ advice, supermarket shopping, and pill consumers without showing how each point connects. “In contrast” does not introduce a clear contrast, and “As I mentioned earlier” refers back to a point that is not developed sufficiently. Repeated references to healthy diets and pills also make the argument feel circular. Group related ideas together and use clearer links that show cause, example, or result.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “vitamin pills,” “balanced diet,” “overconsumption,” “consumers,” and “proper education.” This gives the response enough language to communicate its main subject. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, or collocation errors make parts difficult to interpret, such as “spendage,” “excistence,” “heist,” and “mang choices.” Phrases such as “crazy numbers” and “very bad health effects” are imprecise or informal for this essay. Aim for more accurate, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the scale of spending directly and explain the possible health consequences rather than relying on vague intensifiers.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including “Despite of the warnings and advice from doctors, people are ignoring…” and “Sometimes, people might be clueless about what to buy and not to, because…”. However, errors are frequent, and some sentence patterns are faulty or incomplete. Examples include “Healthy diet became an option now,” where the tense and article use are problematic, and “According to the statistics, spendage on vitamin pills are skyrocketing,” which has an agreement problem. The final sentence, “Vitamin pills are good but consuming in minimal quantities,” is also incomplete and unclear in structure. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, tense consistency, and complete sentence construction. Proofreading each sentence for a clear subject and verb would improve readability.
