Student answer (Band 6.0)

People nowadays follow a healthy diet to maintain their body fit as well as healthy with all sufficient vitamins in them. Despite this, there are many people who are likely to spend money on vitamin pills directly instead of having a healthy meal. Well taking vitamin pills can be hazardous for a person's health in future if it is consumed in large amount throughout lifetime regularly.

Firstly, today's generation think that spending money on vitamin pills will be more easy rather than working out on their regular meals and body. The thinking of those ones about consuming vitamin pills states that they don't want to exercise everyday, neither they want to follow a strict as well as healthy diet nor they want to be fit for better lifestyle in future. They also think that pills gives the result way faster then having a good meal. Just because the intake of better nutritious food takes a longer time and also for that one has to stop eating their favourite food, it seems to more liberal way to get vitamin pills. One more reason for the intake of vitamin pills is that they are available easily at any of the drugstore or pharmacy and it also does not require any prescription letter from doctors.

There are few ways to cure the habit of taking vitamin pills. First of all, stop eating junk food and sugar in large amount. One has to get control on their food. For example, if anybody is eating 4 times a day, decrease the amount of meal in day and also switch that meal into something healthy. Consume as much fruits as you can in a day. One can eat 2 different kinds of fruit everyday in terms of obtaining all kind of vitamins required to the body. One rule should be implanted for pills that if you really require vitamin pills than one should have a prescription letter from doctor where it should be mentioned that how much amount of pills should be consumed by the patient everyday.

To conclude, I will say that there are many reasons people spends money on vitamin pills but if they really get a bit serious about their health than they will automatically come to know about the truth - that no need to spend money on this, just keep working and follow a strict diet while also eat fresh fruits everyday.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a clear overall view: people choose pills for convenience and perceived speed, while dietary changes and medical oversight are proposed as alternatives. The explanation that pills are easy to obtain from pharmacies is relevant, and the suggestions to eat fruit and require a doctor’s prescription respond to the second part. However, some points are not fully developed or are unclear. For example, the claim that people avoid pills because they do not want to exercise is not clearly connected to vitamin use, and reducing meal frequency does not necessarily improve diet. Develop the reasons more precisely and explain how public information, practical food guidance, or healthcare advice could persuade people to choose nutritious meals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph explaining why people buy supplements, a paragraph offering solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “For example,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages. However, some connections are mechanical, and the long second paragraph combines several separate explanations without clear grouping. The reference in “The thinking of those ones” is also unclear, while the conclusion repeats the general point rather than drawing together the two answers. Organise each body paragraph around a clear central idea, use more precise references, and link each proposed solution directly to a reason people buy pills.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “nutritious food,” “strict diet,” “prescription,” and “obtain,” which makes the topic clear. There are also attempts to express distinctions such as convenience and speed. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “maintain their body fit,” “working out on their regular meals,” “more liberal way,” and “cure the habit.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less precise, even though the reader can generally understand it. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships for health and diet, and choose direct expressions such as “stay healthy,” “plan meals,” and “discourage supplement use.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “if,” “because,” and “that,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. Some sentences are controlled, such as the explanation that nutritious food takes longer to produce results. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction remain, as in “today’s generation think,” “pills gives,” and “people spends.” The sentence beginning “The thinking of those ones…” is also difficult to follow because its clauses are not well formed. Review subject–verb agreement and practise breaking long sentences into clear clauses. More consistent control of these patterns would make your varied sentence structures easier to read.
