Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You make an attempt to address both questions: fear of illness is offered as a reason for buying supplements, while fruit and vegetables are presented as a dietary alternative. However, the response only partially answers the task. The first paragraph focuses on older adults and bone strength, but the example is unclear and does not explain why people spend large sums on pills. The second question is addressed mainly by describing what some people eat; you do not explain how people could be persuaded to change, such as through public health advice or practical education. Several claims, including the percentages and deaths attributed to poor diet, are not explained or supported. Develop a clear answer to each question and use relevant, specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some paragraphing, and the response moves from supplement use to diet and health, so the reader can identify its broad subject. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow: the opening example, the statistics, and the later discussion of exercise and deaths are not connected into a clear argument. Linking expressions such as “for instance” and “also” are used, but they do not always show a precise relationship between ideas. References such as “they” and “it” can also be unclear. Organise the essay around the two questions, with one paragraph explaining why people buy pills and another explaining how to encourage healthier eating, then connect each example directly to its main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “vitamin supplements,” “disease,” “vegetables,” “fruits,” and “diet routine,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to understand. For example, “relying on vitamins pill to survive in any worst situations” is not a natural way to describe why people take supplements, and “overcome all calories and fats” does not express a clear dietary idea. There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “benificial” and “strenghten.” Build a more precise vocabulary for causes and persuasion, and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “because they don't have any vitamins” and one using “so” to explain a consequence. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “Vitamin pills has” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “There are a lot of People in this world are being died” combines incompatible structures and uses an incorrect passive form. The opening sentence also contains several clauses without clear grammatical connections. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking agreement and verb forms as you revise.
