Student answer (Band 6.0)

Advises of doctors that having a healthy diet we can all get the vitamins we need. However, there are people disregards the advise of professionals that they continue spending lavishly on vitamin pills. There are several reasons why people still choose on what they want to have rather than having a healthy habit of eating so they can reduce the independence of these products.

One main reason is the they are always busy on their schedules so some people not have the time to cook. Many individuals rely on the vitamin pills that are easy to buy on convenience stores or pharmacy. As the result, they think that having to take the supplements are great to maintain their health. For example, one office worker skips meals but heavy relying on multivitamins to make it a replacement on actual food.

There are many ways to encourage people to make their eating habits improve. Firstly, the healthcare professionals should make a educational campaigns on having actual nutritious food that would benifit to their health rather that vitamin supplements. These campaigns would help people to know whats much better for them in the long run. For instance, a balanced meal that was made a week before so its okay to re-heat the prepared meal everyday in which a great way of maintaining the diet.

In conclusion, people purchase many supplements that is convenient and advertised. Other than that, providing much more nutritional education and making food more accessible and easy to made would encourage more people to do it and making it to reduce on spending on supplements.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a relevant focus: you explain that busy people may rely on convenient supplements, then suggest health campaigns and easier meal preparation. The office-worker example supports the first point, while preparing meals in advance illustrates a practical alternative. However, the reasons for spending “large sums” are only partly explored: convenience is clear, but the conclusion’s reference to advertising is not developed in the main discussion. The proposed campaigns are also described generally, without explaining who should run them or how they might change behaviour. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and a specific example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “One main reason,” “Firstly,” and “For instance” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation for coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, links can feel mechanical, and some references are unclear: “it” in “so its okay to re-heat” does not have a precise referent, while “Other than that” does not clearly connect the conclusion’s ideas. Use transitions that express the exact relationship between points, and make pronoun references explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “vitamin pills,” “supplements,” “nutritious food,” “balanced meal,” and “healthcare professionals.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “maintaining their health” and “in the long run.” However, word choice and collocation errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “rely on the vitamin pills,” “make it a replacement on actual food,” and “easy to made” are awkward. Spelling and word-form errors such as “benifit” and “advise” for the noun “advice” also weaken accuracy. Build a bank of natural collocations for health and diet, and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause (“so some people not have the time to cook”) and a relative clause (“a balanced meal that was made a week before”). This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and several errors make sentences difficult to process. For example, “there are people disregards” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “the healthcare professionals should make a educational campaigns” has article and number errors. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “people purchase many supplements that is convenient” contains agreement errors. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking articles, plurals, and complete sentence structure.
