Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is indeed true that "Health is Wealth" and to improve the overall health, doctors suggest that people should consume healthy diet to get essential vitamins. However, it is observed that people are spending a large portion of money on vitamin pills. Reasons for this occurrence and the ways to improve people's diet without consuming vitamin pills will be elaborated in the forthcoming paragraphs.

There are many reasons for this happening and the most obvious is the busy lifestyle. Nowadays people are working extended hours in order to fulfill their needs and desires. As a result, they hardly get time to look after their diet. They often skip their breakfast or lunch and instead of this, they prefer to take vitamin capsules to save their time. Another reason is, lack of knowledge among people regarding nutritious diet. By this I mean, a majority do not understand the imprtance of consuming a perfect meal. A perfect meal means food items containing all the necessary vitamins required to function body in a proper manner. They are just having meals for satisfying their taste or to get rid of hunger and for vitamins, they just buy pills from the market.

There are ample ways to encorage people to improve their diet. Firstly, people should consult a doctor or dietician and get proper diet plan. Additionally, they should go for a body check-up regularly. By this way, they can know if they have any vitamin diffiency and plan diet accodingly. Furthermore, people should take some time from their hectic schedule and spend enough to cook their breakfast or lunch contains less calories and more vitamins. Besides this, people should educate themselves regarding food items. For example, whenever they for for groceries, before buying any food item, always read the nutritious value of that item. By doing this, they can improve their diet.

To conclude the aforementioned discussion, it can be finally commented that although people are taking alternatives to get the required vitamins such as pills because oof their tight schedule and lack of knowledge, suggested way can make a marked difference. From my perspective, educating ourself regarding diet is the best approch.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses both questions and maintains a clear overall position: busy schedules and limited nutritional knowledge help explain pill use, while advice, health checks, cooking, and food education are proposed as alternatives. These relevant points support the assigned level, and the conclusion reinforces the value of education. Some ideas, however, are more fully explained than others. The busy-lifestyle point is linked to skipped meals, but the claim that people choose capsules to save time could be developed with a clearer explanation of why pills seem more convenient or reliable. The suggestions are also somewhat general; for example, explain how doctors, schools, or public campaigns could persuade people to change their habits. More specific examples and fuller development would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The essay has a clear four-part structure: introduction, reasons, proposed solutions, and conclusion. Ideas progress logically within the body paragraphs, and signposting such as “Another reason,” “Firstly,” and “Furthermore” helps readers follow the discussion. This clear organisation is a strength. At times, however, linking phrases feel mechanical or are used imprecisely. “By this I mean” and “By this way” interrupt the flow, while “Besides this” introduces an example that could be connected more directly to the advice about educating oneself. Some references, such as “suggested way” in the conclusion, are not fully specific. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make links between each claim and its explanation more natural and explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

There is adequate vocabulary for discussing health and diet, including “essential vitamins,” “nutritious diet,” “hectic schedule,” and “dietician.” The writer also attempts more formal expressions such as “a marked difference,” although some choices are inaccurate or unnatural. Examples include “fulfill their needs and desires” where the point is about work demands, “perfect meal,” and “spend enough to cook,” which do not express the intended meaning precisely. Spelling and word-form slips—“imprtance,” “encorage,” “diffiency,” “accodingly,” and “approch”—also limit accuracy. Aim for precise, natural collocations and proofread carefully; for instance, “balanced meal” is more appropriate than “perfect meal,” and “make time to prepare meals” is clearer than “spend enough to cook.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures (“As a result, they hardly get time…”) and a concession in the conclusion (“although people are taking alternatives…”). Meaning is generally clear, and errors do not usually prevent understanding. Some grammatical problems remain, particularly with sentence construction and articles. In “a healthy diet,” the article is needed, while “food items containing all the necessary vitamins required to function body” needs a clearer structure, such as “vitamins the body needs to function properly.” The sentence beginning “For example, whenever they for for groceries…” is incomplete and contains a faulty clause. Check that each sentence has a complete main clause, and review article use, agreement, and punctuation when editing.
