Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an growing issue that doctors inform us that we can get all the vitamins we need from having healthy lifestyle.Even with advice, many people keep going to spend large amount of money on supplements.
I think some people spend a lot money on vitamin pills because they want to maintain good health and prevent illnesses.Nowadays, many people have busy lifestyles,so they may not have enough time to eat a balanced diet.As a result, they believe that taking supplements can help them stay healthy and boost their immune system.
Another reason is advertising. Many companies promote vitamins as a way to improve energy levels and overall well-being.However,I believe people should be careful because not everyone needs vitamins supplements.Eating a balanced diet is also important.
I think people could be encouraged to enhance their diet through educations and public awareness campaigns. For example, schools and health professionals could explain the benefits of eating fresh fruits and vegetables instead of relying too much on vitamin pills. In addition, the government could make a healthy food more affordable and accessible to everyone.I believe that if people understand that the balanced diet is important to their overall health, they may be more willing to change their habits.however, vitamin supplements can still be useful for people who need them.
In conclusion,I believe people should have the knowledge on what benefits they could get by eating healthy food and good lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions and maintain a relevant position: you explain that busy people may use supplements because they lack time for balanced meals, and that advertising also influences purchases. You suggest education, public-awareness campaigns, and making healthy food more affordable. However, these points are brief and would benefit from specific examples or fuller explanation—for instance, how a campaign could change shopping or eating habits. The conclusion repeats the general message rather than drawing the reasons and solutions together. The response contains 214 words, so it is 36 words below the 250-word minimum; the 12 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. This limits the space available to develop the ideas fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from lack of time and advertising to education and affordability is easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “As a result,” “Another reason,” and “For example” help show relationships between ideas. To make the organisation more effective, develop each paragraph around a clearer sequence of claim, explanation, and example; several points currently follow one another without much elaboration. Some transitions are also mechanical, and the final “however” is not capitalised after a full stop. More precise referencing and smoother links between the proposed measures and their expected effects would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “balanced diet,” “immune system,” “public awareness campaigns,” and “affordable and accessible.” These choices make the main ideas clear, and you attempt some topic-specific language rather than relying entirely on basic terms. There are, however, several inaccurate or unnatural word combinations and forms, such as “healthy lifestyle” in the opening, “vitamins supplements,” “through educations,” and “have the knowledge on what benefits.” These do not generally prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Aim to learn common collocations as complete phrases and check whether a noun should be singular, plural, or uncountable in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some complex forms, including a reason clause (“because they want to maintain good health”) and a result clause (“if people understand…”). Most ideas remain understandable, but errors in articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries occur across the response. Examples include “There is an growing issue,” “spend large amount,” and “make a healthy food more affordable”; these need more accurate article use. In “if people understand that the balanced diet is important,” the article is also unnecessary. Missing spaces after punctuation and the lowercase “however” after a full stop affect punctuation control. Practise checking articles and sentence boundaries, while continuing to use subordinate clauses accurately.
