Student answer (Band 6.0)

Despite getting advise from the doctors to follow a nutritional diet to gain all the vitamins a human body needs, some proportion of people still depends on over the counter vitamin medication. This essay will further discuss about the potential reason why people spend a lum sum of their finance on pills for vitamins and will also discuss about the potential solutions to motivate them to gain vitamins from the food they consume rather then being dependent on pills.

One of the main reason for people spending their money on vitamin pills is the lack of cooking skills. Some people do not know who to cook and they are not able to follow a healthy diet and that results into lack of vitamins consumption. So the only option they are left with to fulfill their vitamins is pills. For instance, the student who move abroad are on their own. They have to cook meals to survive. But some of them do not know how to cook and are not able to maintain a healthy diet. Secondly, people who are vegetarian are not able fulfill their nutrients as compared to people who are non vegetarian. So they have to be dependent on pills to get enough vitamins.

Various steps can be taken to motivate people to focus on their diet rather then depending on the pills for vitamins. The City can run awarness campaign to educate people about the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. Once the people are aware how a healthy diet can benefit their body they can be motivated to follow that instead of just buying pills. In addition to that, healthy diet tiffin services should be available for the people at a reasonable rate so it can be easily accessible to the common people and they can follow a healthy diet

To conclude, due to lack of cooking skills and people depending on vegetarian food it becomes obvious for people to rely on vitamin pills. However if various steps such as awarness campaign and accessiblr tiffin services of healthy meal are implemented, it can give a push to people to follow a healthy diet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a relevant focus: lack of cooking skills and vegetarian diets are offered as reasons for buying supplements, while awareness campaigns and affordable healthy-meal services are proposed as responses. The examples about students living abroad and people with limited cooking ability help make the first reason concrete. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. In particular, the claim that vegetarians cannot meet their nutrient needs is too broad and needs qualification or support; a balanced vegetarian diet can provide many nutrients. The solutions would also be stronger if you explained how campaigns or meal services would change purchasing habits. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “One of the main reason,” “Secondly,” and “In addition to that” help identify the stages of the argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some movement towards more controlled progression. However, the linking can feel mechanical, and the first body paragraph moves from cooking skills to vegetarian diets without explaining the connection between them. Some references are also unclear, such as “that” in “that results into lack of vitamins consumption.” Use transitions that express the relationship between ideas, and make references explicit so the reader can follow each point smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “nutritional diet,” “vitamin pills,” “healthy diet,” and “awareness campaign,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “over the counter” and “reasonable rate.” However, inaccurate word choice, spelling, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural: “lum sum of their finance,” “vitamins consumption,” and “accessiblr tiffin services” are examples. Some expressions are also repetitive, particularly repeated references to “healthy diet” and “pills.” Build a more reliable range of collocations for nutrition and spending, check spelling carefully, and vary repeated terms where the meaning allows.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “Once the people are aware how a healthy diet can benefit their body they can be motivated…” and a contrastive conclusion beginning “However.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain across the response. Examples include “One of the main reason” and “the student who move abroad,” where singular/plural agreement is not controlled, and “people are not able fulfill,” which is missing “to.” The opening sentence is also difficult to manage because several ideas are packed into one structure. Practise agreement, infinitive patterns, articles, and sentence boundaries, then proofread longer sentences to ensure each clause is complete and clearly connected.
