Student answer (Band 6.0)

Doctors suggest that we could get all the vitamins our body needs from having a healthy meal. Whereas, some people continue to spend a large amount of money on vitamin pills. I believe that this trend continues because of unbalanced regular diet and any extra spending on unnecessary pills can be avoided by fixing daily meal plans which I will explain in the following paragraphs.

Today's generation is very busy in earning bread and butter for their family and do not have enough time to cook an healthy meal for oneself due to which most people rely on restaurants food such as Burger, Pizza and so on which do not contain all the vitamins a human body needs on daily basis. As a result they focus on buying vitamin pills to fulfil their body requirements. For instance, A report from City newspaper reveals that people buying pills repeatedly are working more than 50 hours per week which is 10 hours extra when compared to anothers.

Improving daily meals can led to decrease dependency on artificial pills from market and also helps to reduce an extra expense from a person's budget. This can be conquered by cooking a proper meal at home regularly or can choose a tiffin service rather than visiting fast food stores if does not have time to cook. For instance, Fit Mafia tiffin services offer a great value meal across GTA and Surrey by keeping in mind that their customers should get a balanced diet and they offer a variety of dishes to fulfill all the vitamins and mineral needs. So , only changing a meal can help to reduce spending on external vitamin pills.

To conclude, population rely on medicals pills for vitamins because their diet does not contain all the necessary ingredients or vitamins necessary for human body , while this trend can be avoided by fixing daily meal plan and it can also help in reducing an extra cost from an individual's budget.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions and maintain a clear position: you link pill purchases to busy lifestyles and unbalanced diets, then suggest home cooking or choosing a meal service. The examples, including the reported working hours and the tiffin service, make the response relevant. This meets the task well, but the explanation of why people spend “large sums” is narrower than it could be: convenience and poor diet are discussed, while factors such as health concerns or persuasive marketing are not explored. The proposed solutions are also asserted more than explained; for example, clarify how people could be encouraged to plan meals or choose healthier food. More development and support for these points would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph explaining the cause, one proposing solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from busy schedules to reliance on restaurant food and then pills is understandable, and signposts such as “As a result” and “For instance” help connect ideas. However, some linking is mechanical or imprecise. “Whereas” begins a sentence without a contrasting clause, and “This can be conquered” does not clearly refer to a specific problem. The final paragraph largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the main points together. Use clearer references and vary the way you connect explanations and examples to make the flow more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “unbalanced regular diet,” “vitamin pills,” “balanced diet,” and “daily meal plans.” These choices make the main ideas clear, and phrases such as “bread and butter” show an attempt to use idiomatic language. Some less natural collocations and word choices limit precision, however: “restaurants food,” “artificial pills,” “conquered,” and “external vitamin pills” do not express the intended meanings naturally. There are also inconsistent forms, such as “medicals pills.” Aim for accurate, conventional phrasing rather than adding unusual expressions; for example, use “restaurant food,” “reliance on supplements,” and “addressed” or “overcome” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “As a result they focus on buying vitamin pills” and a relative clause in “a tiffin service … by keeping in mind that their customers should get a balanced diet.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “an healthy meal,” “do not have enough time … and do not” with a mismatched subject, “can led,” and “if does not have time,” where the subject is missing. Commas and spacing are also inconsistent, particularly around introductory phrases and before “while.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
