Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

There are two maps of roads.its only track of road how to access the city hospital in between [redacted phone]

the map is in graphical structure.there are some kind of symbols are used to pointoutb the exact point.

In 2007 there was a city hospital situated west of the city.Map shows its the center of the ring road .Both side of hospital road had bus stop.there was car parking area situated beside of the of the bus stop.

Meanwhile 2010 map was more complicated than 2007 becaused there were a huge changed in road mapping. if we came from city road side just accross the roundabout.if we turn west side we had a bus station . If we gone straight of hospital road there was a roundabout and we turned right and take first turn there was a staff car parking area. if we move forward to north side.there was a public car parking.

In my point of view in 2010 mora space of car parking and bus stationsits easy to access city hospital as compare to 2007.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main subject and mention several relevant changes, including the bus stops being replaced by a bus station and the car park being divided into staff and public facilities. However, the account is only partly complete: the 2010 public car park is described as being “north” rather than east of the Ring Road, and the key changes to road access—especially the two roundabouts linking Hospital Road with the Ring Road and City Road—are not clearly summarised. The opening does not provide a clear overview of the main transformation, while the final opinion that access became easier is not supported by specific map evidence. To strengthen the response, give an accurate overview first, then compare the main features and their locations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic chronological structure, moving from 2007 to 2010, and the paragraph break helps distinguish the two maps. Some sequencing is also attempted with phrases such as “Meanwhile” and “if we came from city road side.” However, there is no clear overall progression from an overview to organised comparisons, and the 2010 section becomes a confusing set of imagined directions (“turn right,” “take first turn”) rather than a clear description of the map. Linking is limited and sometimes awkward, while references such as “there” and “it” are not always precise. Organise the response into an introduction and overview, followed by paragraphs comparing road access and transport/parking changes; use clear location-based links such as “to the east of” and “by contrast.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “Ring Road,” “bus stop,” “bus station,” “roundabout,” and “car parking area,” so the reader can recognise the topic. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “track of road,” “graphical structure,” “huge changed in road mapping,” and “more space of car parking.” Spelling and word-form problems, including “pointoutb,” “becaused,” and “mora,” also reduce clarity. Aim for precise map-description language and accurate collocations, for example, “road layout,” “major changes,” “parking provision,” and “located to the east of.” Avoid conversational phrases such as “In my point of view” in a factual report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

There are attempts to combine ideas and describe sequences, but the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors are frequent enough to make some passages difficult to follow. Examples include “There are two maps of roads.its only track of road,” where sentence boundaries and capitalisation are missing, and “Both side of hospital road had bus stop,” which has problems with number agreement and articles. Tense and clause construction are also inconsistent in “if we came … if we turn … we had.” Use consistent past-tense descriptions for the maps, check singular and plural forms, and punctuate complete sentences. Short, accurate sentences such as “In 2007, six bus stops lined Hospital Road” would improve control before you attempt longer comparisons.
