IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons wherever relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.5)

The given maps provide information regarding the changes made in the area of city hospital in two different years.

Overall, it can be seen that various improvements has been made in the area which leads to smooth and effective functioning of the hospital.

In 2007, to reach the city hospital people had to walk through the city road and then turn towards the north to the hospital road. There were total six bus stops on both sides of the hospital road and a small car park was also available for staff and for public. The hospital was in front of the car park surrounded by the ring road.

However, in 2010 the area was developed and a roundabout was constructed on the city road to avoid traffic congestion. Moving further, a large area was designated to the bus station which was constructed on the left of the hospital road. The staff and public car park were separated. The staff car park remained in the same place while, the public parking was constructed to the east of the city hospital.
