Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the maps, such as the addition of roundabouts, the separation of parking facilities, and the new bus station. However, the response lacks a clear overview statement that summarizes the most significant changes. While you mention that the 2010 map is 'fully advanced,' a more formal summary would highlight the transition from a single-access road to a more complex, multi-access system. Additionally, some descriptions are slightly subjective (e.g., 'people may have face little difficulty'), whereas IELTS Task 1 requires an objective report of the visual data provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is organized into two clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the chronological progression from 2007 to 2010. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat limited and occasionally mechanical. For instance, the transition between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, which limits the flow of ideas. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in contrast' to better connect your observations and comparisons.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to describe the changes clearly. You use relevant terms like 'roundabouts,' 'parking area,' and 'bus station.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'bus staff is totally separated' (likely referring to the bus station) and 'road is not much updated.' To reach a higher band, aim for more precise academic vocabulary, such as 'infrastructure,' 'integrated,' or 'facilitated,' rather than relying on general terms like 'updated' or 'advanced.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('maps shows,' 'bus staff is'), missing articles ('reach hospital'), and punctuation errors (missing spaces after commas). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that articles are used correctly before nouns.
